Splinterlands Assets Moonshot? Hives Next Bull Market

It's been a LONG time coming but it sounds like Land will soon be upon us. In the most recent town square (not to be confused with the town hall) we got a little sneak peak of how land is going to work and also that it should be going live on the maverick servers this weekend! If all goes to plan I could see land 1.5 coming out around the 19th of August which would be huge.

To put all of this into perspective during the last bull market land plot where selling for a little over $1,000 each (should I have sold maybe? I'd be a rich man today but only if I had moved it out of DEC/Hive and into HBD which I most likely wouldn't have done at the time) The thing is land was just a IOU token at the time it wasn't even a thing yet.

Now while I don't expect land to go up that much in price right now I do suspect it will have an overall positive impact on everything else in the game. DEC returning to $0.001 peg, increase in SPS price, NFT cards increasing in value and being combined and the introduction of huge amounts of new tokens (I hear 50+) of which each will be liquidity pools for DEC another massive factor.

What's in land 1.5

While this isn't an official announcement it's information I've been able to pull so far and what I think will be in it.

The big update will be able to start working your land however land will need to be cleared first before it can be worked on this "clearing" phase is a huge sink to a lot of assets currently in the game before you can even mine anything with them. For the most part it feels like SPS can be mined from occupied lands, grain can be produced but not openly traded (but you should be able to use it to fuel your own lands) it can be bought off the market at a steady price of which I believe all the DEC used on it will be burned.

Soon after that we should see land 1.6 and with it the ability to start trading grain. If all goes to plan we should start to see more assets appear such as buildings etc which are once again going to be huge sinks for the tokenomics of splinterlands.

For myself I'll be working 142 total plots of land of which 100 are on a keep I own. I'll most likely start building some of these up but sell them off at a later time.

My thoughts are land values will only increase as the buildings etc are built up on each plot the real estate value of that should increase for time, grain and DEC placed into it.

The Overall Economy

Even if Splinterland doesn't pick up too many new players during this time there's enough resources and new sinks that even if just 20% of land starts to be used we could see a massive uptick in DEC prices which should ultimately effect SPS prices in the positive.

That uptick will start to get people wondering as in a market that's pretty much not moving you'll see SPS governance token increasing by 100%+ (speculation) which should catch a lot of eyeballs.

With that should come new players which means more people interested in hive. We saw a massive increase in Hive price with the success of Splinterlands as well. Which goes to show us applications on layer 2 of hive are huge for the overall health of hive. Honestly without them hive is a rather worthless token when you think about it with zero money value behind it to support the constant inflation and constant selling out for blogging.

These are changes we need to start supporting and seeing on the Hive blockchain and supporting these applications that are brining real dollar value, fees and liquidity to the platform.

Overall I'm excited for end of August but in particular September I think will be a big month.

142 land at 1k would be 142k$ if you'd have sold it for HBD back then and come back to buy cheaper. That's humongous, anyways, seems you'll be having quite a time when land is finally deployed.

lol right... I should have sold. But I would have gotten DEC I think at the time which was hyper inflated in price. So I would of had to convert it out to HBD at the time but I honestly don't think I would have APR wasn't a thing back then either. Hindsight will always get ya lol

Irrespective, HBD was already getting closer to attaining some decent stability, so you'll have still maintained the value of your money, while still getting the APR that followed even if APR wasn't a thing back then. But then, we all get to learn with each bear and bull market

Yep for sure, I'm just thinking that the mindset at that time I most likely wouldn't have put it in HBD lol Of course now with HBD kicking out 20% there's actully a lot of trading and play room there with assets and building enough passive income in HBD to fuel lands as well. Lots of options compared to two years ago. Always fun looking back on it all.
