Plot 05-033. Region: Sonn. Magical river type.

I didn’t know what to expect coming out here. Sonn has a reputation—foggy, remote, strange in the way that doesn’t translate well through story.

But now that I’ve seen it?

Formosa keeps ringing in my head.

I might stick with that.

There's something about this place.

The river doesn’t behave like a river. It doesn’t just flow—it moves.

Slow. Purposeful. Melodic.

Not a flow. A dance.

The river navigates the land like it's choosing where to be—cutting curves that don’t make sense until you see them from the air.

The water itself glows in spots. Not brightly, but just enough to let you know it’s alive.

And it doesn’t rush. It doesn’t ripple. It dances.

Every now & then it brushes against these scattered gemstone outcroppings (I'll need to investigate further into these in an upcoming survey log).

When it does, there’s a certain pattern.

A rhythm.

You don’t hear it so much as you feel it.

An ethereal percussive lapping of this magical stream against its equally mysterious earth-borne counterparts.

The Siren

I’m not sure what else to call it. The river is like a siren—but not the kind that sings sweet songs to lure you in. No lyrics, no melody.

Just this steady murmur that sits in the back of your mind and spins your thoughts off to another world.

I’ve caught myself standing at the bank longer than I meant to, losing time.

Not in a bad way.

Just… somewhere else.

Key Notes

• The “current” seems reactive. Not random.
• Stone clusters show minor vibration on contact.
• No wildlife sighted thus far. No nests, no scat. Nothing. But it feels like there's something out there.
• The air is heavier here. Not suffocating, just heavy. Perhaps there's some magic imbued into the humidity?

There’s more to figure out. But this is the start.
