Splinterlands DAO Refuses to go Down the Hive DHF Route of Giving HBD to every Tom , Dick and Harry from Venezuela

The Splinterlands DAO is awash with funds at the moment due to the successful sale of the Rebellion deck and things on the upside with land and SPS and the argument now is do they spend the funds to promote the Splinterlands game such as try and get on more exchanges or do they hold off and keep it for a rainy day. It was not that long ago that the company was in dire straights so there is an section of the Splinterlands community that want to use the more cautious approach. It is all relevant discussion amongst the stakeholders who want the best for the game on the long run and don't want to rush into an important decision. Whatever happens it will go to a vote and the people will decide.

One thing they are not doing is giving the money away to for Hive users to line their pockets which seems to be the strategy that the few major stakeholders on Hive are doing at the moment.
We spoke to a Splinterlands spokesperson around what they may do with the DAO.

"Yeahhhhhh man , we are talking to the likes of Coinbase and Binance to list our SPS coin so we can bring more people to the platform." "That way it will benefit the game in the long run."

"Strategic partnerships like funding some of the Rebellion costs have really boosted the DAO so we are talking about how to market the Splinterlands product to get users to the game."
"And no this does not include buying a rally car for a user , or setting up a Street Workout business for another guy. Are you fucking mad!!?"
"No we at Splinterlands have more respect for your crypto and our crypto for that matter than to just flutter it away whilly nillingly. We care for our SPS. We don't wanna see some numpty set up a wooden stall at a makeky up crypto conference in Caracus and put it down as a marketing expense. We are serious here at Splinterlands. As well as that we are all educated people here and we can check wallets to make sure the funds are being used for what they are meant to be used for. The DHF should be looking at more exchanges to get HBD onto . Now that would be a better use of funds and the Hive price also but we have nothing got to do with the disaster site over there. We sort of leave them to it. But in time the validator nodes will be up and running and we will no longer need Hive to confirm our transactions.

Asking if there was any mood to buy a rally car to rival Hives rally car was met with a laugh.

"Hell no , we are a successful company but we take our users funds very seriously. We may as well be throwing it down a black hole than investing in this. You need to be a large blockchain outfit like Binance or Cyrpto.com to be investing in those sports. So it would be a no from us. Good luck to the dudes over at Hive who got a car for free and are living their dream , Good luck to them. I would do it myself if I could but mav chat wouldn't allow it. There would be total war. I am not sure how the uppercrusts are getting away with it over at Hive. Like its a great blockchain but there is too much sell pressure from these funds that the price will never increase. So in theory the Hive blockchain who are wasting so many funds into these madcapped marketing campaigns are actually doing more damage than the sum of their parts.

Think about it , if there is less sell pressure and the Hive price increases. The largest attraction to a blockchain is when the price goes up. So say if the Hive price is $2 then users will flock back to the blockchain to create content. So basic economics says the Hives marketing campaign is not only not attracting new users. Its actually deterring them. It's mad stuff really."

So at Splinterlands we have a good lad who we employ to look into these different things and put forward a proposal for us to vote for. Some people say its more centralised. I think it's good use of funds to have a man on the ground to look after our treasure trove. Maybe it would be a good idea for the DHF to employ one of these people to plug a couple of sinkholes. But what do I know!!

LOL! I'm surprised they didn't decide to do a Zealy campaign too! That's all the rage on Hive now too.

And with all zealy, buying and Ad revenue did the charm as the price did not budge. The community is nicely bifurcated by Premium and very ecstatic about it.
