Take a Look at these Splinterlands Promo Cards!!!

Each and every year, my shop Conquest Comics sets up to hock our wares at the New York Comic. Well…except this one and last one due to Covid restrictions. But waaaaay back in the pre pandemic year of 2019, we were there kicking ass selling our Funko Pops, Exclusive Comics, all while passing out early promo cards for a little known game called Splinterlands.

I had expressed my interest to Matt and the team about wanting to try to do something to try to bring more eyes on not only the game, but our lovely little blockchain as well. The Splinterlands team being the rockstars that they are, conjured up 9 awesome promo cards…each with their own unique code for a Free Starter which I believe is now just called the Spellbook.

I can’t recall how many of these badboys were producedin total, but I’m guessing several hundred as I remember the wife and I stuffing hundreds upon hundreds of bags prior to the show.

In hindsight, I wish I had handled it a tad better with more of a target for specific types of people…but working NYCC is always a clusterfuck where I’m lucky if there’s time to take a squirt, let alone chat up 100k plus folks to find out their interests.

So alas…random promo cards were pre placed hundreds of inside empty shopping bags that were ready to go. Folks who bought something from me went home with a sweet promo card in their bag…for a game they never heard of in the hopes that they would check it out.

I don’t know if that promotion was worth it for the team because at that point as it might have been a bit before it’s time. A bit too early to the party. Now with the recent interest and buzz about NFT’s and blockchain gaming…it probably would have a totally different effect. But, we live and learn and I have some good ideas for our next promotion…

Anyway, One cool thing is that NYCC also has an accompanying app for all con-goers to utilize. I had these listed on the app
for folks to see and even had a handful of folks swing by to ask for their Free swag. In addition to our Ninja Turtles Exclusive comics we were selling, we were passing out not only these cards, but promo sunglasses for Crook & Marker (wife’s ex employer) & promo cards for my other buddy’s game Real Fantasy.

Pretty cool shit!!!

Long story short. I was cleaning up the ol’ basement recently and uncovered a small remaining stack of these tasty cards. I only have a few of each left as the majority were given away 2 years back but I figured there might be some interest from the hardcore players out there to see if anyone wanted one.

I was hoping to trade these remaining promos in exchange for some tasty in game assets. I would mail them out to anyone who is interested and they would be packed well as collectibles is my biz!

Just hoping for a handful of cool swaps for these. Why not try to beef up my assets…gotta get that SPS!!! 😜

So if any of you hardcore Mavericks out there want a cool piece of Splinterlands history with some physical promo card action…let me hear your propositions!!!
