At long last! The release of Chaos Legion General Sale is finally upon us. This is without a doubt the MOST anticipated event on the entire HIVE blockchain, given how popular Splinterlands is.

I myself had been eagerly counting down to this day. Even though the release time for Chaos Legion was at 1am in my timezone, I decided to forgo my sleep for this huge event (and also my FIRST EVER PACK OPENING in Splinterlands).

Obviously, I was not the only one to do so. Here's a rundown of the CHAOS LEGION PARTY party in the PIZZA Discord! 🍕

As a BIG FAN of 🍕PIZZA🍕, I always suggest joining PIZZA DISCORD if you need a quick pickmeup. 👍 It's a friendly and helpful community with regular EVENTS, AIRDROPS of various crypto tokens, discussions of several GAMES on HIVE (Splinterlands, Rising Star, HashKings, Exode...), MUSIC, and even bits of FINANCE ... well I think you get the idea 😄

As you can see here, there are PLENTY of Splinterland players in PIZZA. (which shouldn't really be a surprise, seeing as there're 3 Pizza Splinterland guilds)

And the anticipation for the launch has already generated quite a buzz.

I'll let the images below speak for themselves. Most people were tuned in to Matt and Aggroed's live stream on the Splinterlands discord - myself included. And the anticipation for the countdown resulted in 😂 alot of GIFs!

The timer ticked to ZERO at last! I refreshed to buy my packs!!!
AND - well, lets just say a lot of people were doing precisely what I was doing. Which predictably lead to this.

Yup. Even with all our advances in technology, massive number of people clicking on a website at the same time = server lag 😂

But credit to the Splinterlands team, this actually only lasted for a brief moment. I did not really hear of any problems for anyone who had already pre-purchased their credits having any problem getting their Chaos Legion packs in the initial wave.

Speaking of the initial wave, the number of packs sold, excluding the private pre-general sale - not to be confused with the pre-sale (yeah super confusing i know 😉), instantly shot up BY A MILLION PACKS! Talk about pent up demand! This was as pent up as it got. No wonder the servers shuddered under that amount of buying pressure!

Hearing Matt and Aggroed talking on the live stream pretty much confirmed the huge demand, with them saying this was Splinterlands biggest sale ever. 🤑🤑🤑

🎁🎁🎁OPEN Those Packs NOW🎁🎁🎁

Our first intrepid adventurer opening the packs in PIZZA - @augustbrown and WOW. 2 GoldFoils? I had to open the few packs I bought NOW too!

To say my first 4 packs were terrible would be an understatement. How does ANYONE even open up 2 packs costing $4 each with just a 41 cents and 71 cents value? I was doomed. 😭

GOLD FOIL EPIC Magi Necrosi TO THE RESCUE!!! So happy with the next 4 packs. With drastically improved results. Else I'd be crying myself to sleep.

I actually had a few more packs unopened, but had to stop because I was out of Legendary and Alchemy potions. (pro-tip, DO NOT open your packs without 5 of each of those potions EVER)

Seemed like a few of our other Pizza Splinterlands players were having quite a bit of good luck as well. @cooperclub with his LEGENDARY pull!

And @dibblers.dabs with his LEGENDARY AIRDROP Uriel the Purifier!

However, no one even comes close to @theacks with his "4 in a row" GOLD FOILS which included 2 GF Summoners!

Well, I think overall, there were alot of satisfied people. I myself can't complain too much either. No legendaries or even GFLs for me, but it was a good pull overall for myself.

But lots of people were still trying to make even more purchases even after they'd already opened their packs. And predictably, with the massive server slowdown, well.... I'll leave you with the error messages that everyone posted on PIZZA Discord 🤣

For myself, it was time to call it a night. 💤🛌
