It's another HUGE week here for myself (and probably everyone else) in Splinterlands. The year-long SPS Airdrop as we know it, is OVER! 💔😭

I'm sure most players will miss that, myself included. I used to always wait for the daily snapshot to take place to claim my daily airdrops, and having no such option anymore for the past few days needs some adjusting to get used to. 🤣

I've got to admit, hearing about this SPS airdrop all over the news was also one of the things which caught my attention, which led to me picking up Splinterlands. I still regret that I came into this game only slightly more than half a year ago (WOW! Time flies! ⌛). I would have had such an amazing collection of cards (at affordable prices) had I come across Splinterlands much earlier on. 😭. But better late than never I guess. 😜

That being said, there are still some ways to earn SPS and the conclusion of the daily airdrop isn't the end of the world as we know it. 😉 I'll talk about my plans to accrue more SPS briefly later on. 🤑🤑🤑

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 35th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 35th weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊

The game changes made last week really affected a lot of players (and bots too I assume). The number of battles being played daily immediately had a sharp drop off a cliff. Rentals also reached ridiculous rates, with cards commanding a large rental premium all of a sudden.

Fortunately, it seems like players in general are adjusting and getting used to the changes again and the number of daily battles have been going up, with rental prices also normalizing yet agin.

I had been initially quite frustrated by the changes too, seeing a huge spike in costs and also having a lot of really overpowered opponents move down a league tier. I even had to drop back down to the Silver League for a few days. However, everything seems to be back to normal now (as I've mentioned) 😊.

The End of Season will be here really soon in about 2 days. Fingers crossed for the rewards. Hopefully the RNG Gods will smile on me.

My quest for that elusive Gold Foil Legendary from my rewards chests continues on though 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 (It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉). I'll get there some day (i hope).

Like I said before, the end of the SPS airdrop doesn't mean that SPS as we know it is now extinct. Far from it, there are new ways to earn some SPS now.

From the table shown below, we can see that several new Liquidity Pools have been formed with pretty lucrative APRs (currently) for players to take advantage of to earn SPS and DEC.

Personally, I intend to take part in several of those pools. 🤑🤑🤑 With APRs ranging from 50+ to 160+ %, it looks really tempting. Of course, I'm also personally bullish on SPS's value over the long term, so it seems like an obvious choice for me. 📈📈📈

There are risks of impermanent losses of course, so if you should choose to dip your toes into said pools, please don't take this as any financial advice or endorsement 😅, but do your own research before doing so.

And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 276k sold since last week. That is an amazing sales figure! 😄

In fact, it's better than amazing! It's a MASSIVE SALES SPIKE! And the reason for this? The end of the SPS airdrop once again. Lots of players have been holding onto DEC for the sole reason of accumulating more SPS airdrop daily. Once that was over, everyone is just using up their DEC to buy packs at 4k DEC/pack. 🤑

Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 602k away from the 10 million mark! Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
