Here's my 38th Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish. 🍕⚔️🛡️

It's the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Fray no.12✨🏅✨ for the 21st week in a row for me.

Instead of listing out the results since week 1, I shall just tally up the total wins/losses from now on, as seen in the table below 😁. 📊📊📊

I had a slight bump in my overall win % heading into the current round of brawls. Thanks to the previous good results which pushed me higher 😁. As mentioned in the previous brawl report, I was unfortunately unable to score a perfect win streak due to facing a surprise Epic Gold Foil Gladius card against my opponent. As it is, Gold Foil Gladius cards are really quite rare in Gold Foil frays, and being able to field one is a HUGE advantage. Oh well, such is life. You win some, you lose some. 😊

After opening a Gladius Case last week, it seems like it'll only be one more brawl before I gather enough Merits for another. I'll be looking forward to to it in the hope that I can pull something that can help me in my Guild Brawls.

🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 Fingers crossed for a Gold Foil (Legendary!!!) I hope 🤣🤑 for my future Gladius packs. (or any packs/rewards chest for that matter 😉)

On a side note, Daily chests can now drop a small amount of Merits too, although I find the number too small to make too much of a difference. Perhaps the higher leagues with their better multipliers will be able to appreciate it more.

As usual, I make an extra effort to rent ✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion✨ cards that align with my daily focus during Guild Brawl days.

Hopefully Lady Luck continues to shine on me 🍀🍀🍀 and I don't get too many weird ruleset combinations which will completely screw up my limited Gold Foil selection of cards. (🤣 yeah, that's how terrible I am, to have to rely on luck for my wins)

• Some thoughts I have about my exploits in the Gold Frays. 💭🤔

I feel like I'm winning because my opponent has even less Gold Foil cards available to him than I do. Personally, I find it slightly flattering to me. The teams I field are definitely not the absolute strongest, but more of what is available to me.

It also doesn't account for HOW I win some of the fights though. I've realised that a fair number of them are from opponents who just gave up and did not even face me in battle. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

My choice of picking up the Gold Foil frays is to simply give the Guild a better chance at accumulating more wins, seeing especially that IN THE PAST, many Gold Frays were left empty. Even if I were to lose everything and win just 1 match, it would definitely help in securing a better finishing position overall. 🥇🥈🥉

I've joined the Pizza 2 Guild over at the PIZZA DISCORD and was introduced to the world of Guild Brawls in Splinterlands. It has been an interesting experience to say the least. 🎉🥳🎊
Guild Brawls are generally the same as Battles, but with some minor tweaks (of which I'll save for another day). Lets get right down to business as I analyze my brawls. 🧐⚔️🛡️

With all that said, lets FINALLY get down to a review of my battles 😁, or in some cases where my opponent fled 🏃🏻💨 - non battles 😨.

WON.

Always nice to start my Guild Brawls with a morale boosting win 😉.

This was actually a really close fight. The opponent countered a huge portion of my DPS from my Silent Shavi by placing an extremely tanky Molten Ash Golem in the backline. This allowed his DPS to actually take down my Tanks before I even managed to kill any of them! 😰

Special mention had to go to my Witch of Warwick (yes, I was fortunate enough to pull a Gold Foil version of this Gladius card 🍀) which managed to hold off the SNIPE damage from the opponent's Lava Spider thanks to it's LIFE LEECH ability. And after that, it even managed to score a kill to activate BLOODLUST allowing it to transition to Tanking duties after all the Tanks had fallen!

Thanks to that, I managed to secure victory in the end.

LOST.

This was a loss by the finest of margins! Just 1 final blow determined the eventual winner. Had my Bertrol Gobson attacked first instead of the opponent's Regal Peryton, it would have been a different end result.

On hindsight, I should have placed my Mycelia Slipspawn in the 2nd slot just like my opponent. This would have allowed me to "split up" the damage taken.

Lesson learnt. I shall bear that in mind in the future. 😭

LOST.

It boiled down to the opponent being able to field a team closer to the mana limit that I did. The ruleset restrictions meant that I was unable to field some of my other units, and I was basically out DPS-ed.

It was also unfortunate that my opponent picked the Death splinter out of all the rest that were available 😰, thus negating the damage from my Witch of Warwick which I was depending greatly on.

WON.

This is a classic showcase of the power of a Gladius card!

My Witch of Warwick basically solo-ed the entire battle, landing all 4 killing blows and turning into an unstoppable life leeching monster. Had I not had this card in my team, I would have lost utterly, with all my other cards unable to deal a single bit of damage to the opponent's Tank.

The other units did serve their purpose in being good meat shields as my Witch slowly turned into a 1 man death machine though 🤣, so they did play their part in the win too!

2 wins and 2 losses. It was an acceptable result overall. Although, I think had I positioned my units better, I would have turned one of those losses into a win. Not to worry though, at least I got a valuable lesson out of this. 😁

I feel it's important that Guilds are able to fill out all the frays - even the significantly "harder" Gold ones. It is very likely that most guilds (at our level) skip the Gold frays completely, or are unable to even field a team if they've got no Gold Foil Summoners. This therefore leads to a better overall score.

A excellent finish! We matched last week's results yet again. 1st place was too far off, with Splinterlands RU being one of the top guilds pulling too far ahead of everyone else (20 wins ahead?! 😱).
