Does Quix actually even breathe out any fire? 🤣 Somehow, I don't think so.

Ok, not quite that kind of Dragon, but the Dragon summoner class and their associated summons (which also includes their fair share of dragons of course). To be more specific though, the Legendary Chaos Legion Dragon Summoner - QUIX THE DEVIOUS 🏹🎯🐉

Quix had wandered the chaos realm for so long, he’d almost forgotten where his life had begun. Most of the memories only came to him in dreams now, flashes of images that were hard to connect and make any sense of. It was only when he came upon the Ravaged Void and rested by its black well that something stirred within him. It prompted a deep hunger for mana and he became obsessed with magic. Not only that, but the images he saw in his dreams became clearer and he witnessed great dragons. Some of them were native to the realm of chaos and some looked completely alien. Their nature appealed to him and demanded his attention, and so he remained by the void where over time his power grew, the vast emptiness filling him with potent energy.

Quix the Devious is a Legendary card released during the Chaos Legion expansion. It has definitely found it's place in many Dragon decks given its availability and usefulness. It's effects on the battlefield are 🏹-1 RANGED ATTACK🏹 to all opponents and 🏃🏻+1 SPEED🏃🏻 to all your units. It's summoning cost is, like all other Chaos Legion Summoners, 4 🧪MANA🧪.

Now, the Dragon splinter is probably my favourite among all the splinters. I find that they're the most flexible splinter, being able to employ cards from the Dragon splinter AND one other splinter. Think of this like an added advantage of CHOICE VS your opponent if he/she chooses only to pick cards from 1 normal splinter!

The release of Chaos Legion gave the Dragon splinter another Summoner in the form of Quix the Devious. Now this is an amazing card which effectively combines Contessa L'ament together with Pyre from the Death and Fire Splinters respectively. Imagine the abilities of 2 summoners combined into 1, which only costs 1 more mana! 😱

Quix becomes a supercharged version of the both of them, and what's better still is that as a Dragon Summoner, he has the added bonus of being able to pick cards from TWO splinters! This is definitely what I'd consider game changing! 😱😱😱

As a summoner, his stat growth is pretty much as standard as they come along. The higher the level of your summoner, the higher the level of Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary cards can be fielded. Of course, this is also subject to the limits of the League you play in. At the Diamond and Champions League levels, the full power of a maxed level Summoner can be unleashed with no limits! 😱

⚔️🛡My Battle Showcase🛡⚔️

Let me present a battle I fought recently in which I used Quix the Devious. My opponent used the infamous (read - Overpowered) Yodin Zaku from the FIRE splinter as his main pick, while I used the DEATH splinter together with a DRAGON splinter deck. 🔥🐉💀

At first glance, it would seem like my opponent had HUGE ADVANTAGE over me.

• He was using a level 3 Yodin! 😱 As if a basic level 1 Untamed Legendary Summoner wasn't strong enough, here I was facing one which was LEVEL THREE!!! 😭

• He was also using level 3 Legendary monsters, level 4 Epics, level 6 Rares, and level 8 Commons.

• Talk about a lopsided matchup. My cards were almost all just level 1 with the exception of Quix and the Diamond Dragon.

Clearly, in terms of card levels, I seemed to be completely outmatched 😜🤣. Would I be able to turn the tide of battle against such an opponent then? Victory or defeat would lie in the small details.

I would say that the Quix the Devious was DEFINITELY the MVP of this match, having played it's role in turning the tide of battle.

I went for a high speed strategy, with Quix and the Diamond Dragon debuffing the opponent with a total of -2 speed. The opponent's entire team were thus slowed significantly, which would provide my team with some dodge protection.

His choice of Yodin with it's +1 ranged attack meant that a good portion of his team was Ranged. This played into Quix's hands perfectly with his anti-ranged ability negating the opponent.

This ensured that the other units could eventually wear down the opponent until victory was achieved! 🏆🏆🏆

1st CARD SLOT

Dark Ha'on is chosen to fill this slot as the Main Tank. It has high HP, along with the TAUNT and FLYING ability, thus making it perfect for tanking.
It will be the most important role since the backline will fall if the Main Tank goes.

2nd CARD SLOT

Carnage Titan takes up the second slot. It does great DPS from here with it's REACH ability. It also has DOUBLE STRIKE to deal twice the amount of damage. It's high armour and health will also make it a good backup tank.

3rd CARD SLOT

Phantom Soldier fills the 3rd slot. It can serve as yet another backup tank, or soak up SNIPE damage. It deals decent Magic DPS too.

4th CARD SLOT

Diamond Dragon occupies the 4th slot. It has been chosen for it's SLOW ability. It also deals decent Magic DPS and has really high armour to take physical hits.

5th CARD SLOT

Soulstorm occupies the 5th slot. It will be well protected behind here and it has amazing speed and damage.

6th CARD SLOT

Zyvax Vuul occupies the 6th and last slot. It has high HP and thus can protect the backline against any possible SNEAK attacks. It's RECHARGE ability also allows it to deal a devastating 3X the damage every other turn.

As you can see, both of us fielded very different decks from different splinters.

🔥 FIRE 🔥 VS 🐉 DRAGON/DEATH 💀

My opponent used Magnor as his tank in the 1st slot, which was a VERY good choice. The Magnor extremely high HP and damage, and also the TAUNT ability. His Lava Launcher was the DPS/backup tank in the 2nd slot. Countess Sinash occupied the 3rd slot where it would be protected while using it's OPPORTUNITY to pick off my weakest units. Molten Ash Golem, Djinn Apprentice and Blood Maker made up the rest of his DPS units.

My choice of the Main Tank was Dark Haon in the 1st slot. Similar to the opponent's Magnor, it also has the TAUNT ability to protect my other units. It is followed by the Carnage Titan in the 2nd slot, acting as the DPS and backup tank. The rest of the slots were occupied by my DPS units.

The battle started out with all our units just duking it out pound for pound with the Main Tanks taking the bulk of the damage. It was quite a high mana game with 58 mana as the limit. The rulesets were Earthquake and Taking Sides.

• The ast round left me with an uphill battle to climb. Thanks to my SPEED buffs from Quix and Diamond Dragon, I managed to dodge an attack from the Blood Maker. However, the amount of pure DPS still brought down my Dark Ha'on. 😭

• The 2nd round suddenly pulled the game back into my favour surprisingly. Thanks to Earthquake, and my DPS, the opponent's Tank and Backup Tanks were killed! 🥳 What a stroke of luck!

• The game suddenly swung wildly in my favour. The opponent's attacks kept missing as my superior speed and FLYING allowed my units to dodge most of his attacks!

• It was all over for the opponent as the Earthquake mopped up his entire army. 💀💀💀

Talk about doing WAY MORE than it was supposed to!!! 😱🤯🥳 All i expected was for Quix to possibly provide some support benefits to my team. However it ended up being a perfect counter against my opponent.

Well as you can see here in this GIF of my battle, the results were pretty good! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This was truly an eye opener! 😁🏆

Slowly, but surely, I wore down the opponent's team and the match was won handily with 4 of my units still left standing. My team selection proved to be the edge I needed to eventually overpower my opponent. 💪🏻

Would I have done anything differently? 🤔 This might have seemed like a disadvantage at the start but I ended up winning handily. IF I had to use the same cards again, there would be no better lineup than what I had already used for the match. Any other combination MIGHT have resulted in a loss for me. I'm really satisfied with the results against such a worthy opponent. 🏆🥇
