Hello to any of my readers and "Dear (weekly) Diary" 😜

This week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge seems have gone back to the usual flow of things. My prediction about the re-emergence of the old "Share Your Battle" challenges before are obviously completely off the mark now! 🤣 However, most of our remarkable moments in Splinterlands will inevitably be linked to battles anyway. Therefore, it's just 2 sides of the same coin.

In the wider world of crypto, prices seem to have stabilized this week. There was a brief downturn after some hawkish news from the Feds, but prices have quickly recovered after that. A piece of pretty bad news is that HIVE will stop supporting WAX and EOS. I think lots of gamers here would consider that a pretty big loss for the ecosystem, even if the costs of upkeeping the bridge over there were supposedly loss making. Oh well.

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 115th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊

No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

This week's Social Media Challenge is all about sharing our most REMARKABLE Splinterlands moments, so that is what I'll do instead. Usually, nothing really special really happens in my daily Splinterlands daily grind, so let's hope this is more interesting for reading?... let's get down to it! 🤣

⚔️🛡️My Battle Showcase🛡️⚔️

Let me present a battle I fought in the past in which I used the Wood Nymph. My opponent used the EARTH splinter. At first glance, seeing a lineup with 6 GOLD FOIL cards VS my 5 normal cards, and with high levels than me, I thought I was doomed. What chance did I have against someone who clearly out levelled me completely? 😱

I would say that the Wood Nymph was DEFINITELY the MVP of this match having single-handedly turned the tide of battle. It's HEAL ability allowed it to keep my entire team alive against all the odds! 🏆🏆🏆

As you can see, my opponent used Unicorn Mustang as his tank, which was a pretty good choice, being a tanky unit with 11 HEALTH and the VOID ability. His Magic DPS units complemented his summoner choice and were placed behind some low cost cannon fodder units.

The battle started out looking like it was already his game. An entire team of GOLD FOIL cards - What chance could I possibly have? 😱 BUT as it wore on, I soon realised that the Wood Nymph was healing up EVERYTHING that my opponent could dish out. The Mycelic Infantry was admirably holding the line, always being healed up just enough to survive another round.

One of the key points in this game was the fact that the Thorns from my Summoner Mylor's ability fortunately managed to provide the bulk of the DPS needed to bring down the opponent's Unicorn Mustang. Without which, my magic DPS was not doing anything at all no thanks to it's VOID ability.

That combined with the Wood Nymph's HEAL ability kept up my Mycelic Infantry long enough to finish off his most dangerous unit!

This was truly an eye opener!

Slowly, but surely, the nonstop heals wore down the opponent's team and the battle was won comfortably, without a single casualty on my side! Even though I had a huge scare at the start at the sight of my opponent's team, the heals from the Wood Nymph were what proved to be the edge I needed to eventually overpower my opponent. 💪🏻

💭🧐💭Ending Thoughts💭🧐💭

I definitely can appreciate the Wood Nymph and it's strengths. This is one of those cards which are very strong if surrounded with the proper team. The role it brings to the battlefield will give a player the edge in squeezing out every tiny advantage to get the win. 👍🏻 It's abilities, in the right situation, can lead to an unbreakable tank which will keep the rest of your vulnerable army safe no matter the situation.
