Hello to any of my readers and "Dear (weekly) Diary" 😜

The past few weeks have been amazing for crypto in general. We had XRP aka Ripple winning that landmark court case which declared that it isn't a security (unless you're an institutional investor). This has severely weakened the SEC in it's fight against crypto. In fact, the market duly celebrated and all the different cryptos went on a surge immediately after that. 📈🚀 So far, the "July is good for Crypto" sentiment seems to be holding true. It's been all good news and everyone is posting new highs. HIVE has benefited too as it has crossed the $0.38 mark twice in these past 2 days.

On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, after the huge change from collection power to SPS staking last week, there has been nothing much happening. It looks like everyone needs some time to settle down after such a huge change. However, it does seem that the Splinterlands team are also celebrating the XRP win over the FTC. That's the only new major announcement that has come out since then. 😜

But before I go into detail...

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 86th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊

No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

As expected, with the change from Collection Power to Staked SPS affecting every single thing from points gained to SPS earned per battle, playing the game is now harder than ever. I've seen my rewards earned dropping massively, so much so that I won't be spending as much on rentals to go up to the higher leagues since the SPS needed is far higher there.

I believe this has had a knock down effect on the lower leagues as higher ranked players have moved down a level with their much better decks. There is a huge penalty now and I think everyone is still getting a feel of it to know exactly which league they should be playing at. I myself will take some time to assess which leagues and cards to rent, and how much SPS to obtain. 🤔

If there's one good thing from it though, it is that the price of SPS has gone up considerably. Now that having SPS is absolutely crucial to being able to farm any rewards at all, it's value has naturally shot up. 📈

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

I have not managed to get any new Nightmare packs to replace all those I've sold. I will wait patiently to get them at the price I want. 🤑

There isn't anything of note to speak of in my Gladius Case openings, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully something better will pop up after I accumulate enough for another one.

My main regularly picks up the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Only Fray no.12✨🏅✨ while my alt takes up the ✨🏅✨Wild Novice League Fray no. 2✨🏅✨ every week.

My main account has done pretty well with a perfect 5-0 score. Unfortunately, my alt account ran into some pretty hard opponents and could only muster a 4-3 score. Oh well, I was expecting this to happen sooner or later with my much weaker alt account.

PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 3rd place! 🏆🏆🏆

We've managed to maintain a finish on the podium. Unfortunately, we missed out on 2nd place by just a single win. However, I think this is a pretty good result nonetheless. Ever since we filled up some slots with alt accounts from a few members, we've managed to improve our final positions considerably.

Well, like I said, everyone is really pleased about XRP's win over the FTC. Aggroed even posted a celebratory message of sorts. As we can see from his statement, this win is huge for gaming tokens especially as it would be really hard to claim that tokens like SPS and DEC are securities now. This has lifted a huge shadow that has been hanging over the entire WEB3 ecosystem in general.

Of course, the best way to celebrate is to organise a free tournament for everyone in Splinterlands! 🎉 These tournaments are free to enter and have pretty decent prizes that most people who participate in can reasonably expect to win some. The only drawback is that user verification is needed. For some reason, the verification for my country is completely bugged and I'm unable to sign up. 😭 In fact, user verification has been down for me ever since the launch of Chaos Legion where I was trying to get myself verified so that I could buy packs via paypal.

Oh well, perhaps it will be fixed eventually... one day... I hope? In the meantime, it's an all round celebratory mood for everyone. Except perhaps for those who lost faith and dumped everything when prices were at it's lowest point. 😅 Diamond hands HODL WAGMI! 💎🙌
