Building a Supply Chain in Splinterlands

For the last week or so I’ve been Deep Diving into the new Splinterlands Land Functionality that is being released. Some of the functionality is already working in the current Version 1.5 and there are now published White Papers that detail what’s coming up in Version 2.0 so it’s been possible to get a good feel for how this new Splinterlands Economy is going to work. I’m finding it fascinating and yes...I’m hooked.

I do already have some experience with Resource Management Games on Blockchain using NFTs as I played the EOS game Prospectors fairly intensely from about 2018-2020 and there is a lot of similarities in the way the Resources and Buildings fit together. I also see a lot of similarities to Alien Worlds and the way that Tokens and NFTs can be Mined from Land using other NFTs. That said, I think that what the Splinterlands team has planned for release is a bit Next Level compared to both of these earlier games and hopefully it will be just as successful.

I’ve been working on my Strategy to build up at least part of the Supply Chain as my experience with Prospectors taught me that there is Savings and thus Profitability in being able to Synergistic-ally Mine, Refine and Consume your own stuff. In the IT World we’d call this “Eating your own Dog Food” but as a basic principle it’s a sound strategy to start with. So I’ve been reading up about how the Supply Chain will work and am looking to focus on this bit below (inside Red outline) :-

Source

As a starting point that is a minimum of 8 Buildings on 8 different Plots in the same Region. Today I bought an Occupied Plot (to produce Essences) and a Magical Plot (to produce Magical Resources) so that I can have all the dependencies up to Elemental Foods and Elemental Stones. I might need some extra Storage at some point and once the Production Formulas are revealed I’ll know where I need to expand or focus my Production Points but for now I have a Plan that looks like it could work. Wish me luck!

Solid plan and I have a feeling that elemental foods are going to play a big part in production and really ramping up the quality of your lands being worked and is a logical first place to expand. Buildings are going to be important but I feel like that's going to be the long game 10 levels , all costing time and grain while not producing and then constant wood and stone. Just remember certain land types allow certain construction for wood and grain come land 2.0. Good luck out there!

Thanks @bitcoinflood. I have a feeling Elemental Foods are going to be really important too. One of the things I learnt from Prospectors was that there was early demand for construction materials but once the early construction phase was over it was the consumables that were the ongoing source of profit.

I do think the Splinterlands team are smarter with their designs, but am still wary enough to want to make the longer term profit play with consumables.

I’m not a player so I don’t know if the idea will be good but I hope it is favorable for you
I wish you well

The way we are seeing updates are coming and in the coming time we will also see that new user's will come on top of it and all these things are very good for this project.

Now I feel completely out of my depth! I'm still trying to figure out my single land plot and keep scraping up enough DEC to finish my first building in less than 3 months. I currently have one lonely worker, working on that. I should probably read more up on how this will all work.

If you can find a few more spare cards that you can do without then turn them into workers. Even if it's just short term try to match the splinter of the workers to the plots terrain. Good luck!

I've found some more workers, but I need more DEC staked for them, so i'm working on that at the moment.
