I'm sharing my favorite battles in Brawls and fishing for some legendary gladiators in 16 Gladius cases [Eng/Esp]
Happy Sunday, Splinterfam! I hope you're enjoying a restful day. Today I wanted to share my progress in Guild Battles, since we had our most recent skirmish this past weekend. Because I'm only playing in Modern ranked, Brawls are currently the only way I can play with my old cards that are now part of the Wild format. I'm already on track for Gold III in Modern and I hope to reach that goal in these last 3 days of the season so I can open another harvest of reward chests.

Esperando que estén disfrutando de un día reparador, hoy quería compartirles mi progreso en las batallas de gremios, ya que este fin de semana tuvimos nuestra más reciente refriega y como únicamente estoy jugando en el ranking Moderno, las Brawls son actualmente la única forma que tengo de jugar con mis antiguas cartas que ahora forman parte del formato Wild. Ya estoy encaminado a la liga de oro III en moderno y espero poder alcanzar esa meta en estos 3 días que quedan de temporada y poder abrir otra zafra más de cofres de recompensa.
Brawls Balance & Featured Battles/Balance Brawls & Batallas destacadas
This Brawl was more challenging than the last one I had, where I won 6 out of 7 battles. To be honest, though, the large number of rulesets drastically affects the strategies you can use in a battle, so there's a strong element of luck and randomness when it comes to evaluating performance during a Tier 5 Brawl. The good news is that we managed to reach first place, something that had eluded us so many times.
Esta Brawls fue más desafiante que la última que tuve en la que gane 6 de 7 batallas, aunque siendo honestos, la gran cantidad de rulesets afectan drásticamente las estrategias que puedes plantear en una batalla, así que hay un fuerte componente de suerte y aleatoriedad cuando se trata de evaluar el desempeño durante una Brawl Tier 5. La buena noticia es que logramos alcanzar el primer lugar que tantas veces se nos hacía esquivo.

Two battles caught my attention. The first is this one you're watching, where we can only use 5 monsters in battle with all the available Splinters except for the Water ones. The interesting thing about this battle is the first round, when Fenmoor Wood Troll's first attack missed its target, which was my Chaos Dragon. Being a Flying unit, it was a potential target because of its Wingbreak ability. I thought that with this ability, attacks against Flying units would hit 100% of the time, but that wasn't the case. So, with enough speed and evasion, it's possible to dodge these attacks.
Dos batallas fueron las que me llamaron la atención, la primera es esta que estas viendo donde solo podemos usar 5 monstruos en batalla con todos los splinter disponibles a excepción del agua. Lo interesante de esta batalla es el primer round, cuando el primer ataque de Fenmoor Wood Troll fallo su objetivo que era mi Chaos Dragon que al ser volador era objetivo potencial por su la habilidad de Wingbreak. Lo que pensé es que con esta habilidad los ataques contra unidades voladoras hacían blanco al 100% pero no fue así, entonces con la suficiente velocidad y tasa de evasión es posible esquivar estos ataques.

The second battle was perfect for using one of my favorite Archons, which I can only use in Brawls: Wise's Possibilus. Plus, in Chaos Legion, you can only get the Giant Killer ability, which is a huge help when dealing with units that have a lot of mana. The fact that even my opponent was using an Archon from the Untamed set makes one thing clear: Chaos Legion and Untamed are still the card sets you can have the most fun with.
La segunda batalla fue ideal para usar uno de mis arcontes favoritos y que solo puedo usar en Brawls: Possibilus de Wise, además que en Chaos Legion solo puedes conseguir la habilidad Giant Killer que es una gran ayuda para lidiar con unidades con gran cantidad de mana. El hecho que hasta mi oponente este utilizando un arconte de la edición Untamed deja claro algo, CL y Untamed siguen siendo las ediciones de cartas con las que más te puedes divertir.
This time, I decided to buy 16 Gladius cases. The thing is, my Gladiator cards are already close to the top of the Gold League, and it's going to take me too long to upgrade them opening only 2 or 4 packs a week. And since we already have plenty of merit, we're going to try our luck opening these 16 cases. We'll open the first 8 packs and then the rest.
Decidí comprar en esta ocasión 16 Gladius cases, pasa que ya tengo mis cartas gladiadoras cercanas al tope de la liga de oro y me va a tomar demasiado tiempo upgradearlas abriendo solo 2 o 4 packs por semana. Y como ya tenemos méritos en exceso vamos a probar suerte abriendo estos 16 cases, abriremos los primeros 8 packs y luego el resto.

This first batch surprised us with our first Legendary card, and it's one of the most powerful Gladiator cards with melee attacks: Fina Voxom. The damage this card deals is tremendous, and if it manages to take down its target, it becomes an unstoppable force. I currently have it at level 2 and I'm a long way from the next level, but I must admit it's one of the hardest legendary cards to obtain.
Este primer lote nos sorprendió con nuestra primera carta legendaria y se trata de una de las cartas gladiadoras más potentes con ataque melé: Fina Voxom. El daño de esta carta es tremenda y si logra abatir a su objetivo se convierte en una fuerza imparable. Hasta ahora la tengo en nivel 2 y estoy muy lejos del siguiente nivel, pero debo reconocer que es una de las legendarias más difíciles de conseguir.

With the second batch of packs we opened, we got the powerful Tatiana Blayde, the only neutral gladiator card, but her stats make her a real force in battle. She has a combined melee/ranged attack, the Close Range ability, which allows her to attack from the front line. And at level 2, this card increases her evasion rate with the Dodge ability, making her a very useful card in battles with rulesets like Super Sneak or Equal Opportunity. The good news, unlike the previous legendary, is that we only need one more copy of this card to reach level 3.
Con el segundo lote de packs que abrimos, nos salió la poderosa Tatiana Blayde, la única carta gladiadora neutra pero sus estadísticas le hacen ganar mucho peso en la batalla. Tiene ataque combinado melé/rango, la habilidad close range, que le permite atacar desde la primera posición. Y en segundo nivel esta carta aumenta su tasa de evasión con la habilidad dodge, esto lo hace una carta muy conveniente en batallas con rulesets como super sneak o equal opportunity. Lo bueno, a diferencia de la legendaria anterior es que ya solo nos falta una copia más de esta carta para alcanzar el nivel 3.
Let's see how we're doing with our common and rare cards, which are the ones that take the most work to upgrade due to the large number of copies required. So far, all my gladiator cards are at level 7, and I would need 70 copies to reach level 8. As you can see, Bertroll Gobson and Whistling Damon are the cards closest to reaching that goal. A similar situation exists with the rare gladiator cards, except for Cutter Brieze, of which we now only need one more copy for level 6; the rest are already maxed out for the gold league. My goal is to get these cards to level 7 so I can use them in the gold league with epic archons. The two rare death cards are already at level 7, but the most important ones are the life/water cards, and with this pack opening, we're getting closer to leveling them up.
Veamos entonces como quedamos con nuestras cartas comunes y raras que son las que más trabajo lleva upgradear por la gran cantidad de copias necesarias. Hasta ahora todas mis cartas gladiadoras están en nivel 7 y necesitaría 70 copias para saltar al nivel 8. Entonces como pueden ver Bertroll Gobson y Whistling Damon son las cartas que más están cerca de alcanzar esa meta. Una situación similar sucede con las gladiadoras raras a excepción de Cutter Brieze que ahora solo nos falta 1 copia para el nivel 6 el resto ya esta a tope de la liga de oro. Mi interés consiste en llevar estas cartas al nivel 7 para poder usarlas en la liga de oro con arcontes épicos, las 2 cartas raras de muerte ya están en nivel 7 pero las más importantes son las de vida/agua y ya con esta apertura de packs estamos más cerca de subirlas de nivel.
We accumulated up to 6 epic cards in these packs and although we didn't manage to upgrade any of them, we're getting much closer. For example, Edith Emberstar is the closest to being my second level 5 epic card after Trapp Falloway. The rest still have a long way to go since I only recently got them to level 4, with Gorth being the most difficult epic to obtain.
Acumulamos hasta 6 cartas épicas en estos packs y aunque no logramos upgradear ninguna ya nos acercamos mucho más, por ejemplo Edith Emberstar que es la más cerca de ser mi segunda carta épica nivel 5 después de Trapp Falloway, el resto todavía tienen mucho que recorrer ya que fue recientemente que las lleve a nivel 4, siendo Gorth la épica más complicada de conseguir.
Alright friends, that was my summary of the clan battles. Strengthening these cards is crucial when facing a battle with the ruleset that lets you summon a Gladiator card, so having them all at a good level is a huge advantage.
