Saludos comunidad de Hive NFTGame Latino, deseándoles un feliz año y bendiciones para este 2024 he querido atender a esta iniciativa del amigo @manclar y que considero muy pertinente: el del actual estado del ecosistema de juegos NFT y sus perspectivas a futuro. El 2021 significó el despegue de los Nfts en el ecosistema cripto, significó la consolidación definitivo del Gamefi, siendo el inicio de una nueva era criptográfica: el de los contratos inteligentes y tecnologías de segunda capa en la blockchain.
Axie/PvU/ZEDR
Juegos como Axie Infinity, Plants vs Undead o Zed Run fueron punta de lanza de aquel 2021 en lo que parecía ser el futuro de los videojuegos. Sin embargo, la entropía como esa fuerza cósmica que lleva inevitablemente al agotamiento de cualquier sistema/esquema de generación de recursos hasta llevarlo a su muerte térmica comenzó a cerrar sus garras en el 2022.

Desde mediados del 2022 hasta finales de 2023 la mayoría de los juegos NFT han desarrollado un terrible ciclo en el que nacen y a los pocos meses mueren o simplemente terminan abandonados sin recibir ningún mantenimiento. Esto sucede por 3 razones: primero, muchos de estos proyectos tienen esquemas simplemente insostenibles donde la inversión de nuevos jugadores es utilizado para pagar a los viejos jugadores. Segundo, como consecuencia de lo primero la diversión en el proyecto se resiente. Tercero, como consecuencia del constante cambio en las mecánicas de recompensas, la atención y motivación de jugadores se pierde.
Gamefi en Hive contrarrestando la muerte por entropía
La pregunta es, ante este largo y persistente mercado bajista hay futuro/alternativa? Se puede detener la muerte por entropía? La respuesta es si, los ecosistemas gamefi que corren en Hive han demostrado ser capaces de soportar este largo mercado bajista y sobrevivir. Esto se logró por 2 características: Primero, como juego basado en blockchain, hive es un proyecto verdaderamente descentralizado a diferencia de proyectos como God Unchained o Axie que corren en blockchain fuertemente centralizadas como Ethereum. Segundo, Siendo Hive un ecosistema público descentralizado donde sus usuarios son recompensados por crear y compartir contenido, se convierte entonces en los sólidos cimientos donde construir un proyecto Gamefi.
Actualmente videojuegos web 2.0 como Fortnite no solo es divertido sino que su entorno genera una comunidad de youtubers y streamers que sostienen estos proyectos. En este sentido juegos como Splinterlands, Rising Star & Hashkings se componen no solo de jugadores, sino de usuarios de la blockchain social de Hive que entienden el peso del proyecto, por esta razón es que estos juegos han sobrevivido al mercado bajista porque su comunidad no se compone de jugadores ávidos por extraer ganancias sino por usuarios comprometidos con un proyecto de descentralización.
El gran desafío para los proyectos Gamefi será mantener la motivación de usuarios evitando constantes cambios en proyectos y segundo lograr su reconocimiento más allá de Hive. Siendo optimistas estos 2 objetivos pueden lograrse más temprano que tarde si finalmente alcanzamos la ansiada etapa de Bullrun del mercado.

From mid-2022 to the end of 2023, most NFT games have developed a terrible cycle in which they are born and die within a few months or simply end up abandoned without receiving any maintenance. This happens for 3 reasons: first, many of these projects have simply unsustainable schemes where investment from new players is used to pay old players. Second, as a consequence of the first, the fun in the project suffers. Third, as a consequence of the constant change in reward mechanics, the attention and motivation of players is lost.
Gamefi in Hive countering death by entropy
The question is, in the face of this long and persistent bear market, is there a future/alternative? Can death by entropy be stopped? The answer is yes, the gamefi ecosystems that run on Hive have proven to be able to withstand this long bear market and survive. This was achieved by 2 features: First, as a blockchain-based game, hive is a truly decentralized project unlike projects like God Unchained or Axie that run on heavily centralized blockchains like Ethereum. Second, Hive being a decentralized public ecosystem where its users are rewarded for creating and sharing content, it then becomes the solid foundation on which to build a Gamefi project.
Currently web 2.0 video games like Fortnite are not only fun but their environment generates a community of YouTubers and streamers that support these projects. In this sense, games like Splinterlands, Rising Star & Hashkings are made up not only of players, but of users of the Hive social blockchain who understand the weight of the project, for this reason these games have survived the bear market because their community does not It is made up of players eager to extract profits but of users committed to a decentralization project.
The great challenge for the Gamefi projects will be to maintain the motivation of users by avoiding constant changes in projects and second to achieve their recognition beyond Hive. Being optimistic, these 2 objectives can be achieved sooner rather than later if we finally reach the long-awaited Bullrun stage of the market.
