Splinterlands battle mage secrets: Equalizer

Hello Splinter nerds

The new rating system and one leaderboard for each format made it kind of impossible to play both formats now, the reason is due to the limited energy, you need to play a lot of battles to rank higher in each format and we only have 50 energy that recharges at the rate of 1 energy per hour.

The best option now is to use vouchers which is cheaper compared to Dec to purchase energy, but I won't buy energy unless it is toward the season end and I am competing for the top spot on the leaderboard.

This week's Splinterlands battle mage secret is Equalizer

It is a rule set in which all monsters have the same health base as the monster with the highest health base in either team.

If one of the opponent's monsters is the one with the highest health base, let's say 16 health bases, then all my monsters will also have 16 health bases, and all the opponent's other monsters will have the same 16 health base, but buffs and debuffs can change the health afterward.

I got paired Zukito in a 3 rules battle, the other 2 rules were:

Fire & Regret: This rule gives all monsters the fire return ability which causes damage to range monsters whenever they launch an attack.

Up To Eleven: This rule made it impossible to even dare risk using range monsters because it gives all monster amplify ability which increases damages done to range monsters in this battle.

With range attackers out of the option, I can either use melee or magic attackers, and knowing the opponent would be thinking in the same direction, I used Immortalis to summon the earth monsters but the opponent used more melee than magic monsters.

My formation was both defense and attack, I played a defensive game by using a strong tank that is hard to penetrate by magic or melee attackers but even though he is strong, he can be killed and hence I had to use a monster with Taunt ability to protect him from early attacks from the opponent.

Grimbardun smith & Goblin psychic

Grimbardun was my tank, it had shield and void plus repair ability which protected me from the opponent's attacks, I thought the opponent was going to use a lot of magic monsters which was why I placed goblin with the silence and healing ability in the second position to weaken the monster's magic but the opponent used more melee attackers instead.

Lord Thanalor & Runi

The plan was to use Thanalor rust ability to remove the opponent's additional armor but he didn't use any monster with protect ability, Thanalor has a scavenger ability and with every death in the battle, his health base increases, Runi is a strong melee attacker that doesn't miss its attack and it did well in this battle.

Doctor Blight & Mycelic Slipspawn

Doctor Blight's poison and affliction abilities were helpful in this battle as they helped to eliminate the opponent monsters quicker while slipspawn was the sacrificial lamb that got the early attack from the opponent, the force field ability it possessed saved me as the opponent monsters with 5 attack power could not do much damage to it.

How do you post this game we get a lot of knowledge and when to use which card and that is the most common sense in such games and when man gets it then man wins more games.

That taunt monster played a big role in your win, if the enemy probably started a djinn Oshannus with a coastal sentry at the back they would have gone far to an extent. Also the Immoralis is a nightmare summoner. Good win.

Do you get to see the monsters your opponent picked before playing the game or you just pick randomly and see their monsters when the battle starts?
