Splinterlands battle mage secrets: Rise of the Commons

Hello Splinter nerds

This week's battle challenge is Rise of the commons

It is a rule set in which only the common and rare monsters may be used.

I was paired in a battle with Kiwi1 in 2 rule set, the first being the rise of the commons and the second rule was taking sides, so no neutral monsters can be used in this battle.

All these rule sets are quite self-explanatory, just like the rise of the commons means no usage of epic and legendary monsters but only common and rare, the taking of a side ruleset also means only monsters of a certain splinter alone can be used and no mercenary or neutral monsters are allowed.

Based on the ruleset, the opponent and I had the same splinter in mind, the difference was the summoner we used.

He used Possibilus The Wise the water summoner with the trample, reach, and +2 health abilities while I used Byzantine Kitty the dragon summoner that never misses his attack due to the `aim true`` ability it possesses.

We used 3 similar monsters which means both of us studied the rules before coming up with the lineup.

My Formation

Diemonshark

I was not surprised when the opponent also came with the same tank as I did, the monster is a good one and is often used in the Rise of the Commons rule set, even though the opponent monster got eliminated quickly, mine did a great job in destroying the opponent team.

Flying Squid

We both used a monster with the reach ability, even though the summoner he used gave his monster the reach while I used a monster that possesses the reach ability on its own and the purpose is so that it can support the diemonshark in terminating the opponent tank faster.

DeepLurker

This is one of the most used water splinter monsters, it has the opportunity ability and a strong melee attack, not surprised the opponent used it too, it also helps to reduce the melee attack of the opponent's melee monsters with its demoralize ability.

Runic Skyclaw

Sea stalker

These were the two snipers used, the sea stalker also has a cleanse ability that will help to take away any negative stats the opponent placed on my tank while the runic sky law has a reflection shield that will save it from any fire return effect in case the enemy use any monster that possesses such ability.

Venari Wavesmith

The Venari protects my team by supplying all with 2 armors and it also has the dispel ability that helps to clear any positive stat added to the opponent monster it attacked.

Many factors contributed to winning the battle, the summoner I used, the presence of the blind and protect ability and lastly is that my monsters are vicious attackers.
