1st Gladius Pack opening and a first completion of Brawls session.

Its coming to almost a year of playing Splinterlands, but never had the chance to do any brawls or open any gladius packs. As with all of these innovations in the crypto world, it all takes some learning and practice to navigate menus, and figure out how everything works. I just recently joined up with some fellows and completed my 1st set of brawls.

Out of 9 brawls i happened to win 5. I was hoping to win just 1 more, as i thought it was a close call on a couple of the losses. All in all there were 1500 Merits earned as the prize. I did already have some Merits though, earned through rewards chest in the past few weeks. So i already had enough to buy a gladius pack.

Made my way to the store, bought a gladius pack and strolled on over to the magic internet portal, to open the magical internet cards.

Take that pack over to the spot and let errrr rip.

Once opened there are some unique looking cards just waiting for a flip.

Now i dont know what to expect because ive seen a few cards that are part of this Gladius collection. From peoples posts and whatnot. Its interesting that these can only be used on brawls.

And finally the cards are presented and seems to be fairly standard selection. No legends or gold cards, although im not even sure that there are gold Gladius cards.

TODAYS FOCUS REWARDS

Upon completing my focus rewards today and claiming i was presented with about 12 chests, mostly the standard prizes including potions, some SPS, 1 or regular foil cards, some merits, and then these 2 beauties.

I already have a few Gold Pelacor Conjure, but a Gold Blood Maker is a welcome sight. I may have enough pelacor to make mine level 4 now which is pretty cool.

And like the Shiba. We are just animals.

Lol you can say that again, I've been having tough luck with pulling GF or Legendary, after responding to Quack I went on to buy a Gladius case and for the first time pulled my first Gladius Legendary XULAX NIGHTWIND 😃

That is a solid pull. How's this for a story:

  1. I got 7 daily gold chests today.
  2. In my chests I got a Countess Legendary.
  3. I also got a chaos pack; I opened it. Got a legendary fiend (life one).
  4. I thought, I'm on a roll - 2 in a row, I'll open 2 x Gladius cases - crossed my fingers.
  5. But no - legend couldn't make it a trifecta, got 10 x rubbish cards ;)

Brawls are tough but it should get slightly easier as you open up more packs. Each card there has bloodlust and it can help a lot under the right conditions. I got my first legendary gladius card today.

There are indeed gold foil gladius my friend. I own one. The cream of the crop is a gal called Quora Towershed..if you pull her then it makes brawls alot easier. Bloodlust is the bee knees so use the gladius wisely. You can only pick one per battle. I use one of yours you got quite a bit. Chimney walls top. He's a great card to have behind Kron in fire. Normally we should be hitting around 2k merits in each brawl so it doesn't take long to get most of these gladius Cards with the exception of the legendaries . That's just luck. 5 wins is great by the way. If every player in the guild had 5 wins we would be number 1

Hey Quackers; good to see you starting to build your GLADIATORS, and a good way to start it. I noticed you played in the bronze spot - BRILLIANT!

Here's the trick - Yodin + Chimney Wallstop. I used to play that combo all the time, and it's pretty much unstoppable ;)

Rewards seems ok bro, just hate constantly getting beat in battles but i guess thats the nature. If i can throw like 2k worth at some new cards, that would help i guess, shit.

This mostly depends on the league you are playing in. If bronze or silver, then I hope that at least you earn back their rental costs. The rewards are really bad in these leagues. This is why I am leasing out my Splinterlands cards. That gives a much better return than playing.

Oh I'm not renting any cards. I usually rent out all of my cards but I decided to pull a bunch of gold cards back in and see what this bot can do.

After about 24 hours, it's looking like in silver I'll be picking up about 20-25 SPS per day, plus whatever comes out of chests.

I'm not yet sure if that's worth it but its kind of fun for now. Thinking about heading to gold next season and then potentially making a run toward the top if this bot can get it done. Most of my deck is 1 BCX cards for rentals though so I'd have to go into buying mode if I really wanted to make a go of it. I refuse to combine the cards I already have.

Hell yeah bro, I'm coming up close to opening my 2nd ever gladius pack really hoping for good pulls in these as they'll just boost my CP overall so I'm really enjoying anytime brawls rolls around

I only pull about 400-500 merits per with my guild/placement so it's still slow as a mf but we take it, lovely double GF pulls! Blood marker GF is a beast paired with Yodin

Thanks Dubb, yeah Gladius is cool. Its kickin me in the soul though, hate struggling to win against high level cards. Keep getting ass kicked in battles. We can spend like 2 grand just to get a stronger deck i guess, shit.

Hahahaha I hear you bro even down here in Silver it's a struggle so I can't imagine up there with higher cards, mana and battle condition. someone like me would get crushed so in my eyes you're killing it, we gotta keep on pushing through and some good rewards will come eventually at least, we pray to the RNG Gods

That's a good result, especially in your first brawl.

Gladiator cards are a big advantage in the fight so the longer you are player, the better your chances.

5/9 wins on your first brawl is a great result! And without Gladius Card... that's even greatier :)

As others said, Chimney is a strong card: in the reverse speed ruleset is amazing! And when you will unpack Quora... well, she can win battles on her own :)
