BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! RULESET: Earthquake

My splinterlands battle post for the Battle Mage Secret Weekly Challenge.

This week's ruleset for the Battle Mage Secret Weekly Challenge is the Earthquake ruleset. In the last few days, I played many battles, but it seems that this ruleset is very rare. I played very few battles with this ruleset in the last few days. With the Earthquake ruleset non-flying monsters get 2 melee damage at the end of each round. So, we need to choose monsters carefully and tried to add some monsters with flying ability.

Rulset:

Earthquake

Ruleset: Equal Opportunity, Earthquake.

  • Equal Opportunity: All monsters get opportunity ability.
  • Earthquake: All non-flying monsters get 2 melee damage at the end of each round.

Mana cap: 23
Splinters: Death, Earth, Dragon

There were very few splinters to choose from. So, I was confused as to which one to choose. Daria Dragonscale is relatively one of my favorite summoners. Hence I choose Daria Dragonscale summoner. My strategy is to use some monsters with flying ability and mostly melee monsters.

1. Daria Dragonscale
I used level 6 Daria Dragonscale a dragon summoner. It adds one extra melee attack to our friendly monsters. This epic summoner is best if you want to use melee attack monsters in your battle lineup.

2. Terraceous Grunt
I have level 3 gold Terraceous Grunt cards. I choose it in the first position because f its good health and attack. It costs only 6 mana. In addition to that it has Dodge ability which increases the chance of evading melee or ranged attacks by enemy monsters. It has 2 speeds which are relatively lower, but still, it's good.

3. Regal Peryton
Regal Peryton is a rare earth monster. I choose this one in the second position because it has relatively good health in just 5 mana. This monster is best for its high speed and magic attack. Also, it has flying ability. As the battle ruleset is Earthquake, so I tried to choose some monsters with flying ability.

4. Enchanted Pixie
Enchanted Pixie is a rare neutral magic monster. It costs only 3 mana and has the flying ability. I choose this monster in the third position as I wanted some monsters for attacks. This is one of my favorite monsters and I often use it in my battles.

5. Kraar Xoc
Kraar Xoc is an epic dragon monster that I used only to fill my total mana. As total mana was low and I wanted to fill the battle lineup. Also, my thought was it will help me against melee monsters with opportunity ability as there is also an Equal opportunity ruleset for this battle.

6. Mycelic Morphoid
Mycelic morphoid is another monster that costs only 1 mana. My purpose to choose this monster is just to fill my battle lineup. Sometimes it's a good strategy to add some monster in the battle lineup whose cost is only 1 mana. These monsters generally die before some of the good monsters. Basically, it helps to live with our good monsters for a longer time.

7. Djinn Biljka
Djinn Bijka costs only 3 mana. This legendary magic monster is good to choose in the last position, because of its camouflage ability which helps him to not get attacked until it is in the first position of our battle lineup.

In the first round, my monster got one extra melee attack, and the opponent's monster got one extra magic attack because of respective summoners. At first glance it seems that opponents have made is battle lineup smartly. When the battle started my monsters did really well initially. My monster's killed opponents' first two monsters successfully in the first round. My four monsters were still alive and my opponent has 3 monsters alive. As my first monster has no flying ability so it got 2 extra melee attacks at the end of the first round. This seems like my biggest disadvantage in this battle.

In the second round, my monsters still gave a good fight but later it seems like I am going to lose this battle as the opponents' monsters were left alive with good health.

In the third round, the opponent's monster successfully killed my first monster. Eventually, my last monster died soon and my opponents won this battle easily.

I learned a few things from this battle that I should have used first melee monsters with flying abilities.

At last, I lost this battle. I tried my best to win the battle with the Earthquake ruleset but I failed.

Thank you... For visiting my blog. Have a great day. ✌️
