Chaos, Ragnarok and Airdrops

Too much cool stuff around the block. Splinterlands Chaos Legion general sale is 7 days away (finally) and Speak Network/Ragnarok Snapshot is just around the corner: 0.00 Midnight PST 6th of January (note: at the END of 6th, not the beginning, in my time zone (East European Timezone) it's 10 AM on the 7th. Get your Hives ready into your own wallets.

Road to 500 (+75) Chaos Legion packs

millioncredits.jpg

Plan is to buy 500 packs to get the better bonus tier of 15%, 75 extra packs. With 1 Million credits I'm half way there. Unfortunately I've had to use SPS to buy a lot of the credits. The price is in the trenches at around 20 cents, but almost every other crypto for me is a strong hold at the moment. The packs and cards will increase my airdrop points though, so some of that spent SPS will come back in the form of a bigger airdrop. SPS is going to be very important with land, but I don't think land expansion isn't coming too soon, so there's time to accumulate SPS.

Sources of funds I'm using to buy the credits

  • BXT from liquidity pools on BeeSwap
  • DEC income from renting Splinterlands cards
  • SPS
  • HBD post rewards

The rest I'll probably have to supplement with Hive after the snapshot has been taken. Though if we get a severe dip here, I might re-evaluate my whole plan of 500 packs and settle for less. I don't want to spend any extra HIVE if not necessary.

Ragnarok

The Ragnarok team just had an AMA, with @theycallmedan adding his own thoughts into it.

Where do I even begin. This game is quite something. It's basically a year long tournament with an entry fee where top 100 will have the ability to mine more NFTs. Dan's background with poker has big influence here. I used to play some poker too, grinded some freerolls as a kid when I was underage, but managed to still withdraw that money without needing to provide id. Later that money went into crypto.

Poker has it's influence on gameplay too, which is a combination of chess and PvP battle with poker-like dynamics. I haven't played poker in a while, but I'm intrigued to try my skills with a new twist.

The chess is not a regular one though, the board will be corner to corner and there's only 10 pieces for each. The pieces are NFT cards and getting against another piece will trigger a fight between them. NFTs have different attributes, so different attributes could have an advantage against one another. With PvP battles there's weapons, spells and pets involved. Battles grant XP tokens which can be used to upgrade cards. But you also need to pay to heal your characters health.

The coolest part is the fact that all the HBD that is used for the game will be locked for good into a SIP (service infrastructure pool) which is used to get interest that will be distributed to NFT holders.

The game will be fully opensource, so the base idea can be applied from anyone to build their own game. There's no premine and the team won't even take any of the HBD for themselves, all the value is distributed to the community, starting in the form of airdrop where NFTs are dropped to users based on their HP/liquid HIVE. This kind of game is unheard of.

And I haven't even mentioned the setting which focuses around the authentic, raw and gritty norse mythology. Awesome.

The testnet will be a year long. Year long! And it'll simulate a single round of ragnarok. This game is no joke. I'm really looking forward to get my hands on the testnet.

Speak Network

The snapshot date for 3speak claimdrop is the same as with Ragnarok. If I've understood it correctly, Speak Network is a protocol designed not only to reward content, but also the infrastructure providers for that content.

LARYNX is a miner token and will be one of the 3 tokens of the SPK network. Apparently LARYNX is used to mine SPEAK which is a governance token (read that from @revisesociology, I haven't read the lightpaper myself, should get around it).

My knowledge is still limited when it comes to SPK network, but hey, free tokens! Yay!

SWAP.HIVE

Apparently there might be a possibility to claim LARYNX via Hive-Engine if you have SWAP.HIVE sitting there or in some liquidity pools, but I don't think it counts toward the Ragnarok drop. Any case, I'm playing it safe and withdrawing all my SWIPE.HIVE back into native Hive wallet just to be sure.

Remember to also withdraw any HIVE from exchanges to your account if you want your airdrops! There's no guarantees big exchanges will claim them for you or even know about them.

Right on good insight. Especially into the Ragnarok drop and game. I have a little stake of Hive and looking forward to what the process is to claim, when that will be, and how to turn that game into a little more fun and supplemental income.

Hope you are kicking ass old friend!

I heard that they're going to start distribute ragnarok claim tokens before the game launches, so they can be traded on Hive-Engine.

Yah man I am wondering how that is going to work out.

I wanna make sure I claim all I can and hopefully play. Otherwise, I and going to entice a gamer to join hive and delegate it to them to start earning and learning.
