SUMMONER: KELYA FRENDUL

image.png

I selected Kelya Frendul because it grants all monsters an additional 1 shield and 1 mana, and I anticipated that my opponent would do the same. Given the regulations, having an additional shield and mana will be useful for maximizing the opportunity. I was also fortunate to have level 3 Kelya rather than level 1 Kelya.

Front Monster: DIEMONSHARK

image.png

Given the available mana cap, I choose to use Diemonshark as my front monster because it is my favorite frontline. Trample ability, four speed, six shields, eight health, and three melee damage are all advantages.
Ability: TRAMPLE - When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team.

Second Monster: FLYING SQUID

image.png

In this lineup, Flying Squid is really helpful. It is quite beneficial to have three damage, three speed, nine health, and the Reach ability.
Ability: REACH - Melee attack Monsters with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.

Third Monster: DJINN OSHANNUS

image.png

The opponent would definitely utilize this monster as well, therefore I choose to set Djinn Oshanus in third place to serve as a tank as well. It is very dependable to have Void to mitigate magic damage, two magic damage, five speed, and ten health.
Ability: VOID - Reduced damage from Magic attacks, magic damage gets halved (rounded up), except attack 1 which deals 0 damage.

Fourth Monster: URAEUS

image.png

I adore this monster, and having Uraeus in your deck is advantageous. With its three mana cost, the Sneak ability, which has two damage, two speed, one shield, and two health, is quite useful.
Ability: SNEAK - Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.

Fifth Monster: SWAMP SPITTER

image.png

As one of my most frequently used cards, Swamp Spitter is a monster when paired with Kelya Frendul. It is incredibly beneficial to have two ranged damage, two speed, two shields, five health, and the Repair ability.
Ability: REPAIR - Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage.

Sixth Monster: KULU SWIMHUNTER

image.png

One of my favorite range monster is the Kulu Swimhunter, especially when I'm using Kelya Frendul. A nice addition to this lineup having four mana cost, two range damage, three speed, and six life.

The Battle
Round One

image.png

Since I didn't think I would win this match, I'll be honest and say that I got lucky. I was uneasy when I noticed the Untamed cards in my adversary's deck. Due to the Halfling Alchemist's ability to cut the targeted monster's damage in half during the first round, my Diemonshark was only able to make one melee attack.

image.png

Round Two

image.png

At this round, my front monster died and my team manage to take down the enemy's front monster too. Before the end of round two, the enemy's team manage to reduce Flying Squid's melee damage, which will give an advantage to them entering the third round.

image.png

Round Three

image.png

Enemy's team managed to take down my Flying Squid and luckily my team took down Halfling Alchemist which will be a big game changer for the next round.

image.png

Round Four

image.png

At this round, my team managed to reduce Djinn Oshanus' life to 1 before entering the next round. Swamp Spitter did his role to repair the shield for the upcoming melee and range attacks.

image.png

Round Five

image.png

Enemy's Djinn Oshanus died which gave me a huge chance of winning since my Oshanus will take all the damage from that point. Given that my back lane's health is not huge enough to take the damage from Deeplurker.

image.png

Round Six

image.png

Even though Uraeus has already died at this point, Swamp Spitter will continue to hold the front after my squad defeated Deeplurker in this round, giving me the confidence to win the fight.

image.png

Round Seven

image.png

When Swamp Spitter repaired its own shield, it gave the team an advantage in this round's battle against Axemaster's attacks.

image.png

Round Eight

image.png

image.png

Round Nine to Twelve

image.png

Taking down the enemy's Venari Wavesmith made the ring announcer declares the winner since Axemaster cannot attack when it is in the first position.
Making a better plan will be easier if you have an idea of what your opponent might decide to do in the battle. Better planning for which summoner to use and which monsters to choose won't guarantee victory, but it might give you a fighting chance. Simply put, I predicted the situation better in this instance, so the trophy is now mine to keep. Preparation is key, so be sure to plan ahead.
