How to use the "Cruel Sethropod" on the battlefield [ES-EN]

Hace unos días se estrenó el nuevo desafío de batalla de “Splinterlands” donde hay que utilizar una carta que sinceramente no tengo ninguna experiencia con ella, esta carta es “Cruel Sethropod”, un monstruo del “Splinter de Agua” que pertenece a la nueva edición de “Chaos Legion”, pero, una carta que no llama nada mi atención, posiblemente porque aún no la he analizado como se debe, es por esta razón que pretendo utilizarla y ver qué tal se comporta.
Como no la he utilizado, quise probarla y analizar cómo se desenvuelve y en que circunstancias es mejor usarla, así que, decidí detallar una batalla para comprenderlo mejor, además, algo que me ha llevado a no prestarle atención a esta carta es que, la misma en ninguno de sus niveles posee habilidades con las cuales pueda sacar alguna ventaja en el duelo, razón suficiente para utilizar otras cartas con la misma cantidad de mana que puedan cumplir con los objetivos que busco, pero, mi experiencia me ha dicho que, no debo subestimar ninguna carta y por esto le daré una oportunidad.
Sin más nada que decir, iniciaré con el detalle y análisis de la carta “Cruel Sethropod”:
A few days ago was released the new battle challenge of "Splinterlands" where you have to use a card that honestly I have no experience with it, this card is "Cruel Sethropod", a monster of the "Splinter of Water" that belongs to the new edition of "Chaos Legion", but, a card that does not call anything my attention, possibly because I have not yet analyzed it as it should, it is for this reason that I intend to use it and see how it behaves.
As I have not used it, I wanted to try it and analyze how it performs and in what circumstances it is better to use it, so I decided to detail a battle to understand it better, also, something that has led me to not pay attention to this card is that, in none of its levels it has skills with which I can get some advantage in the duel, reason enough to use other cards with the same amount of mana that can meet the objectives I seek, but my experience has told me that I should not underestimate any card and for this reason I will give it a chance.
With nothing more to say, I will start with the detail and analysis of the card "Cruel Sethropod":
¿Cuándo es mejor usar al “Cruel Sethropod”?
Esta carta como comente no la había utilizado en batalla, pero, analizándola me di cuenta rápidamente donde me podría ser útil y bajo que conjunto de reglas, así que, pretendo explicar y/o detallar en que posiciones puede ser utilizada además de las reglas, todo esto con el objetivo de tratar de aumentar nuestras probabilidades de ganar utilizándola, además, debo destacar que, probablemente se me pueda escapar una que otra forma de sacarle provecho a “Cruel Sethropod”, sin embargo, son todos bienvenidos a colaborar conmigo en los comentarios sobre otras formas de utilizar este monstruo.

This card as I said I had not used it in battle, but, analyzing it I quickly realized where I could be useful and under what set of rules, so, I intend to explain and/or detail in which positions can be used in addition to the rules, all this in order to try to increase our chances of winning using it, also, I must emphasize that I can probably miss one or another way to take advantage of "Cruel Sethropod", however, you are all welcome to collaborate with me in the comments on other ways to use this monster.

Esta es la primera y más obvia manera de utilizar a “Cruel Sethropod” en una batalla, ya que, su bajo costo de mana para invocarlo, permite que se puede adaptar en cualquier momento a una alineación donde siempre una carta puede ser útil, bien sea a la defensiva o en su defecto en la ofensiva, además, en este caso en particular, yo jugaría con esta carta haciendo énfasis en la “Defensa”, ya que, de acuerdo a sus estadísticas generales, posee un gran poder defensivo que puede ayudarle a permanecer más rondas en el campo, dando oportunidad a la ofensiva de acertar los ataques.
This is the first and most obvious way to use "Cruel Sethropod" in a battle, since, its low mana cost to summon it, allows it to be adapted at any time to a lineup where a card can always be useful, either defensively or offensively, Also, in this particular case, I would play this card with emphasis on "Defense", since, according to its general stats, it has a great defensive power that can help it to stay more rounds in the field, giving the offense a chance to hit the attacks.
Regla de la “Liga Pequeña"
Esta es otra manera en que podremos usar a “Cruel Sethropod”, siempre y cuando nuestro “Splinter de Agua” está habilitado para jugar, su rol cuando esta regla está en juego es sencilla, dado que es un monstruo con una muy buena defensa debido a sus numerosos puntos de escudo y un cantidad de puntos de vida promedio, está claro que, colocarlo en la primera posición como “Tanque” de batalla podría ser una excelente opción, ya que puede aguantar unas cuentas rondas en el campo mientras el resto de nuestro equipo realiza el trabajo correspondiente, por otro lado, si tenemos a un mejor tanque, esta carta también puede estar en la 2da posición o en la última, siempre pensando en la defensa que podría brindarnos.

Regla de “Super Sneak”
Esta es la 3ra y última forma en la que he probado esta carta, siendo esta la regla de batalla y estrategia que estoy a punto de describirles. Su función en el campo es la misma, defender, sin embargo, existen varios opciones de posiciones en la que podemos colocarlo cuando esta regla se encuentra activa, esta me ha funcionado bien, el “Cruel Sethropod” aguanto muy bien en el campo de batalla, así que, podría decir que, es una buena estrategia, siempre y cuando todas las condiciones se den, ya que siempre estas pueden variar, tomando especialmente la cantidad de mana y la 2da regla, la cual, podría cambiar por completo nuestra manera de jugar.
La Defensa es el mejor Ataque
De esta manera definiría mi batalla utilizando como prueba la carta “Cruel Sethropod”, puesto que comúnmente cuando juego con esta regla “Super Sneak”, me concentro bastante en defender, al menos en los extremos de la formación, este me permite tener las posiciones del medio libre de ataques y fuera de peligro hasta que, algunas de los monstruos en los extremos que acabo de mencionar sea derrotado, sin embargo, la idea es obtener el suficiente tiempo para que las cartas que se coloquen en la ofensiva, puedan derrotar primero a las cartas de mi oponente, antes de que él destruya a las mías, algo básico, pero que funciona bien si sabemos colocar las cartas correctas.
In this way I would define my battle using as a test the card "Cruel Sethropod", since commonly when I play with this rule "Super Sneak", I concentrate a lot on defending, at least in the extremes of the formation, this allows me to have the middle positions free of attacks and out of danger until some of the monsters in the extremes I just mentioned are defeated, However, the idea is to have enough time so that the cards that are placed in the offensive, can first defeat my opponent's cards, before he destroys mine, something basic, but that works well if we know how to place the right cards.

• Super Sneak: All Meele attack Monsters have the Sneak ability.
Esta regla es muy fácil de interpretar, sencillamente todos los monstruos en ambos lados del campo ganan la fabulosa habilidad de “Sneak”, así que, con esto sabremos que, la gran mayoría de los ataques estarán concentrados en un solo grupo de cartas, por lo que, la defensa como comenté antes, debe ser buena, puesto que, si solo nos enfocamos en la ofensiva, los crecientes ataques coordinados de nuestro oponente pueden acabarnos realmente rápido, es por esta razón que la defensa en este punto es crucial.
• Super Sneak: All Meele attack Monsters have the Sneak ability.
This rule is very easy to interpret, simply all the monsters on both sides of the field gain the fabulous ability of "Sneak", so, with this we know that, the vast majority of attacks will be concentrated in a single group of cards, so, the defense as I said before, must be good, since, if we only focus on the offensive, the increasing coordinated attacks of our opponent can finish us really fast, it is for this reason that the defense at this point is crucial.

Como debemos utilizar para este desafío el “Splinter de Agua”, me pareció una buena idea utilizar a “Kelya Frendul” como mi invocador central para utilizar todas las capacidades defensivas que me puede ofrecer “Cruel Sethropod”, aumentado su defensa y su velocidad en +1 punto, lo que me permite jugar con una especie de espada de doble filo, aumentado mi defensa y de cierto modo el ataque de la mayoría de mis monstruos.
As we must use for this challenge the "Water Splinter", I thought it was a good idea to use "Kelya Frendul" as my central summoner to use all the defensive capabilities that "Cruel Sethropod" can offer me, increasing its defense and speed by +1 point, which allows me to play with a kind of double-edged sword, increasing my defense and in a way the attack of most of my monsters.
Esta es la carta central de este desafío y decidí colocarla en esta posición, ya que sus grandes capacidades defensivas, me servirían de mucho para proteger a las cartas más importantes que poseo en el campo, las cuales se encargan únicamente de la ofensiva. Esta carta no es una adición muy impresionante a mi mazo, pero, no puedo negar que, en situaciones específicas ha sido realmente útil, así que no creo que se arrepientan de utilizar el mismo.
This is the central card of this challenge and I decided to place it in this position, since its great defensive capabilities would be very useful to protect the most important cards I have in the field, which are only in charge of the offense. This card is not a very impressive addition to my deck, but, I can't deny that, in specific situations it has been really useful, so I don't think you will regret using it.
Generalmente, suelo colocar esta carta en las últimas posiciones debido a su habilidad de volar, sin embargo, como estamos en una batalla con la regla de “Super Sneak” y la mayoría de los ataques estarían centrados en mi última carta, decidí colocarlo en la 2da posición para que se encargara de la ofensiva en conjunto con el resto de mis cartas exceptuando la última.
Generally, I usually place this card in the last positions due to its ability to fly, however, as we are in a battle with the "Super Sneak" rule and most of the attacks would be focused on my last card, I decided to place it in the 2nd position so that it would be in charge of the offensive in conjunction with the rest of my cards except for the last one.
Esta es si se quiere la carta más fuerte en mi alineación de batalla, está en la 3ra posición porque esta representa el equilibrio de toda mi línea de ataque y defensa, además, al ser la carta mas importante en el ataque, lo ideal es que esté más protegida que el resto, teniendo en cuenta que su poder de ataque asciende a +4 puntos de ataque cuerpo a cuerpo y la poderosa habilidad llamada “Poison”, permitiéndome causar aun mas daño de lo normal a las cartas de mi oponente.
This is if you will the strongest card in my battle lineup, it is in the 3rd position because it represents the balance of my entire line of attack and defense, also, being the most important card in the attack, ideally it is more protected than the rest, taking into account that its attack power amounts to +4 melee attack points and the powerful ability called "Poison", allowing me to cause even more damage than normal to my opponent's cards.
Coloque esta carta en la 4ta posición, con el fin de que mi “Tanque de batalla”, mi “Cruel Sethropod”, pudiera soportar muchas mas rondas de las que tenia previstas, todo esto gracias a que, mi “Merdaali Guardian” tiene la capacidad no solo de regenerar los puntos de vida en cada turno de mi carta, sino que también puede reparar su escudo, si es que este es el más afectado en dicha ronda, lo que dobla la resistencia que puede tener mi carta, haciéndolo un hueso duro de roer.
I placed this card in the 4th position, so that my "Battle Tank", my "Cruel Sethropod", could withstand many more rounds than I had planned, all thanks to the fact that my "Merdaali Guardian" has the ability not only to regenerate the life points in each turn of my card, but it can also repair its shield, if it is the most affected in that round, which doubles the resistance that my card can have, making it a tough nut to crack.
Esta es la 5ta carta de mi formación, un buen lugar para la misma tomando en cuenta que, su función en esta, es servir básicamente como distracción de ataque, con el objetivo de proteger a mi línea de ataque más poderosa colocada en la 2da y 3ra posición. Por otro lado, y como todas ya deben saber, mi “Creeping Ooze”, posee una habilidad llamada “Slow”, la cual disminuye en -1 punto la velocidad de todas las cartas de mi oponente, algo genial, ya que, puedo obtener ventaja fácilmente gracias a mí “Kelya Frendul” y su aumento de velocidad.
This is the 5th card of my formation, a good place for it, taking into account that its function is basically to serve as an attack distraction, with the objective of protecting my most powerful attack line placed in the 2nd and 3rd position. On the other hand, and as you all know, my "Creeping Ooze", has an ability called "Slow", which decreases by -1 point the speed of all my opponent's cards, something great, since I can easily gain advantage thanks to my "Kelya Frendul" and its speed increase.
Esta fue la carta que elegí para que tomara la última posición de batalla, mi decisión se basó única y exclusivamente por su gran velocidad, la cual es aumentada gracias a mi invocador “Kelya”, volviendo la misma una pieza fundamental en la defensa, ya que su velocidad a toda máquina asciende a +7 puntos, haciendo de mí “Kelp Initiate” un monstruo complicado de atacar aun sin tener escudo u otro tipo de habilidad que le permita esquivar el mayor número de ataques posibles.
This was the card I chose to take the last battle position, my decision was based solely and exclusively for its great speed, which is increased thanks to my summoner "Kelya", making it a fundamental piece in the defense, since its speed at full speed rises to +7 points, making me "Kelp Initiate" a complicated monster to attack even without a shield or other ability that allows you to dodge as many attacks as possible.
Lo mejor de esta estrategia Vs la formación de mi oponente
Mi estrategia para poder probar al “Cruel Sethropod” fue sencilla, mi objetivo era probarlo en la defensa y ver su resistencia, lo que funciono bien tomando en cuenta la cantidad de mana disponible que me permitió invocar esta formación, así que, lo ideal según mi experiencia en la descripción de batalla que acabo de darles, deben tener en cuenta la cantidad de mana disponible para que invoquen a sus monstruos, como la regla de batalla.
Por otro lado, mi oponente tuvo algunas fallas notables en su alineación, tomando en cuenta que, su principal defensa en los extremos, en especial el último que es donde se centra “Super Sneak”, no tuvo realmente un monstruo calificado para poder defender esa posición, lo que le causo graves problemas, puesto que, desde la 2da ronda sus monstruos fueron cayendo uno tras otro.
Espero que esta estrategia y batalla les sirvan para que observen el potencial y el alcance que puede tener la carta “Cruel Sethropod”
My strategy to test the "Cruel Sethropod" was simple, my goal was to test it on defense and see its resistance, which worked well taking into account the amount of mana available that allowed me to summon this formation, so, ideally according to my experience in the battle description I just gave you, you should take into account the amount of mana available for you to summon your monsters, as the battle rule.
On the other hand, my opponent had some notable failures in his alignment, taking into account that his main defense at the ends, especially the last one which is where "Super Sneak" is focused, did not really have a qualified monster to be able to defend that position, which caused him serious problems, since, from the 2nd round his monsters were falling one after another.

Siempre me ha parecido interesante este juego, aún así no me he tomado el tiempo de jugarlo suficiente tiempo. Hay algunas cosas que entiendo y otras que no, creo que no es mi tipo de juego, es verdad que anticipar la jugada que tendrá mi rival puede llegar a ser bastante divertido para mi, pero el juego tiene algo que no me engancha. Me parece interesante que utilices una carta que no te llama la atención para así ver el potencial que verdaderamente tiene y ver si realmente vale la pena, no te limitas a decir "No la jugaré ya que no es tan popular" "No la jugaré ya que no creo que funcione en mi Deck". Eso está genial.

Si tienes alguna duda que quieras saber del juego con gusto te ayudo, al igual que tú, me pasa lo mismo con otros juegos, por ejemplo de consolas a pesar de que me gusten no soy muy buena, en cambio, con este tipo de juegos me va mejor y bueno aparte que gano dinero jaja. Decidí jugar esta carta porque el splinter de agua es uno de mis favoritos y porque necesitaba una carta de tanque para mis batallas de bajo mana, existen otros, pero son más costosos y hace un tiempo la había comprado, pero no usado 😅 y para mi sorpresa me fue muy bien jajaja.
