Splinterlands Challenge: Unprotected!

Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge has the Unprotected rulset as its theme, meaning all the cards deployed in battle lose their armor, so they will be directly hit by Ranged and Melee attacks!

In this type of battle, I preferred to deploy cards with a robust defense on average, in proportion to the mana required by each individual monster. In fact, in this battle a rather low overall mana is required so I chose as many cards as possible to cover my lineup.

In first position I deployed a tank, DIEMONSHARK, who at the maximum upgraded level has 6 points of armor, while here in battle he has none. However, the monster has a good defense with 8 health points but above all it has 3 skills that favor a harder approach against opponents with melee attacks:

  • Trample, when the monster attacks and defeats an opponent with a Melee attack, it launches another attack on the next opponent

  • Enrage, the card has an increase in speed and attack when the monster has less than 100% health

  • Retaliate, the monster has a chance to attack the opponent when hit by a Melee attack.

The battle begins with DIEMONSHARK aggressively attacking the opponent in first position, defense is fundamental and will allow my card to reach the end of the battle with still some health points.

Also decisive for the outcome of the battle is DEEPLURKER, a truly terrible offensive card with 5 points that the opposing defenses gain, weakened by the poison that the same monster releases during the attack.

The battle was won calmly, the strategy of deploying at least in the front row a card with a powerful attack but also solid health allowed me to obtain a good final result. Having also deployed more cards, despite the battle's mana being reduced, allowed me to have a more offensive than defensive formation, the key to success also lies in this strategy. Offense is the best defense!

It's a good choice for you to choose a tank from the water element

Your card selection and placement are nice in this battle following this ruleset.

You have selected good cards with good cards and we see that the time leading up to this game is very special because its land gameplay is coming and people have been in denial about it for a long time.
