Splintering Reward Possibilities

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to talk a little bit about how being lazy has left me in a bit of a bind with Splinterlands!

Splintering Reward Possibilities

Splinterlands has been a big and fun part of me for a number of years, since I started playing the game in November 2018. I have taken a couple breaks from the game though, particularly when the rental market really started to become useful and actually meaningful.

I recently took a break for various reasons, one of them being that I was getting a little too angry when playing the game and that's not a good thing for me as it leads to other things in life that just aren't great. I know that overall it was the best thing for me however it does leave me feeling like I'm missing out!

Where I was sadly missing out quite a bit on was not getting all of my cards rented out LOL Oops. I don't keep up with all of the game mechanics these days for various time management reasons but for some reason some of my cards were left unrented and I couldn't really figure out why. They weren't idle on the market, they were just off the market. I don't check it very often and it was sadly about 4 months or so since I last looked, so I knew that I was definitely losing out on some stuff there.

I have wanted to get back into the game but with all of the changes that are going on it, to the game mechanics and all that, I don't know if it will be worth it for me to try and get in the game at this point unless I have a lot of time open up on my schedule. That's okay though because the good thing about the game is that we can be at a point where we played quite a bit, collected a fair bit of rewards and all that and pivoted over to a passive type of in-game reward system through renting and collecting the SPS rewards.

I know that I'm missing out on quite a bit of SPS and card rewards but there just isn't the time in the day for me to play the game, work, take care of the house and the family, write posts, engage in the community and do the other things that I'd like to do. It's a tough decision for me to have to give it up but you get to a point where sometimes we have to see what is worth it for us and at this point in time, the rewards and effort put into Splinterlands versus the frustration that I get out of the game just don't add up lol.

I think this is really where the web3 platform takes off though. I've been a gamer for most of my teenage and adult life, haven invested thousands of hours into the games and many of the games you step away and you don't get anything for that time and effort you put into the game in any real sense. We absolutely learn things from the games, I think that MMORPG's, FPS games, and TCG like Splinterlands all have an important brain functionality in them, for their respective reasons. MMO's teach you technical problem solving by trying to build a character and stats, FPS teaches you reaction time and TCG teaches you strategy. It all depends on how much effort you put into the games but the games besides Splinterlands, when I've quit them, I just quit. I didn't sell my stuff, rent it out or keep up with it but I just walked away.

With web3 and games like Splinterlands, we can have not only our time invested in the game, and the rewards or in-game currencies, but we can take those assets and rent them out to others for a bit of a passive income for us to either sell for other things or reinvest in the game. I am on the latter side of it, where I reinvest in the game as much as I can even though I don't actively play right now. This is a pretty good strategy because it keeps me somewhat involved and it also sets me up for the future, if I choose to play the game or I could even choose to let my son play it at some point in the future. I don't know if I will do the latter, as I want to teach him more real-world stuff than game but I can't say that my gaming hobby hasn't benefitted me, because it definitely has!

I've taken the Rebellion queue and rebelled against my desire to play the game for now, it is a tough choice but I have to stick with it for a bit longer and hope that there comes a point where I can pick it back up. In the meantime, I will have to make sure to check it more often so that I can clean up my rentals LOL

I believe you will do quite well if you return back to the game

It's fun but the time it consumes in my day is where it's too difficult for me to get back to it sadly.

It's a good site you just have to use it over time. It's not fast easy rewards but it's a long term thing!

That's right, we'll see how many games like this are going to be popular again in the near future and the smart people are buying their stuff now and in the near future. They will take a good profit.
