Hello Friends,

Splinterlands tokens are on the rise with declaration of Chaos Legion edition release dates and all the 3 Splinterlands tokens, DEC, SPT and SPS have been moving up in the price and SPS seems to be the one gaining much attention with it being one of the tokens which can be used to purchase new edition packs and also being the one which will earn the much required vouchers required for purchase of Chaos Legion edition packs.
Welcome back to another Splinterlands related Weekly Challenge blog by me for the SHARE YOUR BATTLE challenge and this time, we have Crystal Jaguar as the featured monster from Life Splinter.

Line.jpg

Crystal Jaguar is a common melee attack monster from Untamed edition and this monster is good for mine league battles as it has the thorn throwing ability with armors on and can also retaliate if upgraded to level 9.

The statistics for Crystal Jaguar looks impressive as this 4 MANA cost monster can be a very handy customer in mini league battles since it has thorn ability and with 2 melee attack from level 6 onwards, this can be a good front monster.
The melee attack remains at 1 until level 5 and from level 6 onwards, it remains at 2 attack in it's 10 levels.
The Speed is good enough for a 4 MANA monster as it starts with 2 speed and increases to 3 from level 2 onwards and remains the same until level 10.
Life Splinter monsters need armors and this monster starts with a single armor which increases to 2 at level 5 and to 3 at level 8 and finally, attains a speed of 4 in final level.
The health is impressive for this monster with 5 as starting health which can go up to 7 as we upgrade this monster.
It has 2 abilities in thorn and retaliate as we discussed above and both are good ones for a 4 MANA monster.

Battle and Lineup:

As we can see above, this battle I fought for this challenge was with 22 MANA cap and had 2 rule sets Close Range (allowing ranged attack monsters to attack from front position) and Stampede (to allow trample ability monsters to attack multiple times if the monster it attacks is removed).
So, keeping those rule sets in mind, I selected the lineup as below:

Lineup:

1. Crystal Jaguar:

The theme monster is although someone who can be handy, I still prefer Crystal Werewolf to be used instead of this, as Wolf is more stronger in terms of health, Speed and also reduces the magic attack from other side.
But, since this is the theme monster, it's being used here in front position and was good in getting rid of Magnor.

2. Silvershield Warrior:

Min League battles will always have this monster in my lineups as this has huge number of armors to be a backup front monster and can give 2 melee attack.

3. Divine Sorceress:

I use this as a guard against snipe attack, since this monster has divine shield and also has the armors to withstand the ranged snipe attack.

4. Defender Of Truth:

Used in most of the mini league battles by me as it gives 2 magic attack along with creating 2 additional armors for all friendly monsters and this monster also has good speed to attack early.

5. Peacebringer:

Another go to monster in mini leagues as it gives 4 ranged attack at good speed of 4.
It gets rid of the front monster most of the times as it will be a faster one compared to other monsters.

6. Furious Chicken:

Lastly, I used this Zero MANA cost monster as there was no MANA left but there was a vacant place.

Opponent used Fire Splinter with monsters Magnor, Aganju, Furious Chicken, Serpentine Spy and Fire Beetle in that order.

Battle:

OK, all done, let's go thru the battle round by round.

Round 1:

Opponent's plan of using Magnor in First place is quite understandable considering the rule set of Stampede, but, it didn't work well here since all the monsters used by me had armors being part of a Life Splinter lineup.
The only monster to get removed in this round was the Aganju as it got thorns thrown by Crystal Jaguar.

Round 2:

Serpentine Spy, being the the one with more speed, got rid of the Furious Chicken used by me and combined attack from the monsters I used, saw an end of Magnor although it took out the Crystal Jaguar monster before it died.
And finally, in this round, opponent lost his Third monster in the form of Furious Chicken bringing Serpentine Spy to the front.

Round 3:

Serpentine Spy removed the Silvershield Warrior at the very First iteration in this round and the Spy itself got removed before the Fire Beetle removing Divine Sorceress

Round 4:

Round 4 needed just 2 iterations as that got Fire Beetle to be removed for an easy win for me.

Questions and Answers:

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Well, it worked good against the heavy Magnor as it could have removed all the monsters unless those had armors.
Obviously, I think the removal of Magnor was the beginning of the end for opponent as other monsters were all with low health.

Do I like the CRYSTAL JAGUAR? Why or why not?

Well, as I said in the beginning, I am not a big fan of this monster as Crystal Werewolf gives better stats for 1 less MANA cost and also reduces the magic attack for opponent's monsters.
So, I can say, I don't use this much.

Line.jpg

That's short but nice battle considering the Magnor's presence in this battle and also Stampede rule set.
I hope you enjoyed going thru this battle and the blog. Do share your comments.

Thanks and Have a great Sunday :)

So, I can say, I don't use this much.

I also never use this card and will only use it for this week's Share Your battle contest.
Nice post and nice battle

Yep, Those little leagues makes me to use Crystal Werewolf to the best use with other monsters as in the battle shared with Divine Healer in between there.

Thanks for the Beer and Tipu curate as well.

Have a great Sunday :)

Sorry I mistakenly used my curation account for SPT tokens but I wanted to use my main account also because otherwise the curation tipu vote doesn't start.
I'll fix it right away ;)

Thanks @alokkumar121, yep, since this is the beginning of a new season, the DEC returns will be good, there were instances of touching 100 DEC per battle, but, now there is more competition and we can't get more DEC per battle like before.
