It has been a month since I shared my favorite Water Deck which I am using all the time in Splinterlands [Link]. This time around it's my Favorite Death Deck.

Strong Decks vs Fun Decks

One of the things I like about Splinterlands is that you can get creative in making your deck making it so that there is a ton of synergy between cards. Unfortunately, there are limited spots where this actually can be done as the most fun and creative decks aren't always the strongest ones especially since there are so many different rule sets.

Astral Entity Death Speed Deck

I love speed as a mechanic in the game as it has a double power since higher speed attacks first and also has a bigger chance for the opponent to miss. Especially if the difference in speed is significant combined with some abilities it can be impossible for the opponent to hit. While this can be extremely frustrating for the opponent, it's really fun to play yourself. unfortunately, there aren't that many game rules where this really shines and is the strongest possible deck.

The combination that works quite well is the Legendary Astral Entity Death Summoner which removes 2 Armor from all opponents, Gives them the Shield Ability and allows 1 revive. When playing this summoner with the Level 8 Nightmare Tank, it makes it really hard to hit since it has 6-speed by default and the Phaze ability allows magic to miss which is crucial. The Dodge ability that it gets also helps for the opponent to miss. The Corrupted Pegasus helps to provide some tank heal and gives all monsters +1 Health? In 3rd place I like the place the Spirit Miner as it adds the blind ability while increasing the speed even more. these speed dynamics also come into play with cards like the Undead Priest and the Lira The Dark

Other Summoners that work well

Both the Quix The Devius and the Sthispa also work quite well for a speed-centered deck

Other Cards that work well

Any card with high speed or abilities that influence speed or the chance to miss pretty much work well in this deck along with the hantom Soldier and/or Octopider who reduce the attack of the opponent.

Dragon & Martyr Ability Cards that work well

The dragon summoner also has some cards with really high speed which work well in this kind of deck. With the Resurrect ability from the Astral Entity Summoner, it's also an option to play a card with the Martyr ability in increase the speed on monster aside from it even more and possibly twice.

More Card options

The Cursed Slineball with the redemption ability possibly can trigger twice if it ressurects but at the same time you don't really want a 1-mana card to do this. The Shadow Presence always halps to keep monsters alove and the Fallen Specter if it gets Phaze also coule be good especially if it gets some exra health. Finallu the Ravenwood Warden can help to provide a lot extra protection with the +2 Armor while also possibly adding +1 Melee attack.

Conclusion

While it might not be the absolute strongest or most original deck, I really enjoying to play the the Death or Dragon Splinter combined with a very high speed meta. The main weakness is that many other players also play higher speed decks which kind of counters it as these generally get fewer misses. Anyone with some 1 speed monsters in their deck is pretty much without chance though as those give near 100% misses.
