Splinterlands Strategy | My Favorite Wild Gold League Water Decks

avatar

Something that I noticed playing Splinterlands is that I tend to have a couple go-to decks that I pretty much play over and over again. These are my personal favorite decks to play in Wild Gold League that also tend to win the matches...

Game Rules

Despite the fact that individual game rules force Splinterlands players to have a wide set of cards in order to be the most competitive, some decks just work generally well regardless of the rules. For those getting into the game or renting cards, this could be quite useful as these decks that I play tend to win matches. In this edition I'm featuring my favorite Splinter which is Water as it has so many great cards that synergize well. The Possibilus is generally seen as the weakest Chaos Legion Legendary Summoner but I disagree as for me it tends to work the best with a very specific deck.

#1 Possibilus The Wise Water Deck

This one is actually quite an expensive deck with The Kraken, Ruler of The Seas, & Crustacean King at a higher level but it works really well and is hard to beat unless the opponent has the affliction ability which isn't used that often right now.

With all monsters getting +2 Health, the trample ability and Reach which makes it possible to play 2 strong tanks. Since all the damage is directed toward the Kraken which has a Double Heal + Armor Repair it's almost impossible to kill also because it had +4 extra Armor. The Ruler of The season speeds everything up while reducing the Magic Damage from the opponent. Other cards that can be used for this strategy are the Demented Shark to give Melee Monsters +1 Attack, The Water Elemental to balance things with a solid ranged monster, The Runi as opportunity works really well, the Cruel Sethropod especially if magic hits armor and in the brawls the Isgald Vorst which is a powerhouse. Another option is the Scavo Technomancer which I don't own an costs 23$ to get to level 5 as that has the rust ability since armor is one of the things that counters Possibilus back a bit.

Example Battles:

#2 Magic Water Deck

This deck or a variation of it works quite well on lower mana rule sets and is basically a bunch of strong cards put together.

The Arlic Stormbringer is those that have been in the game for a long time without selling tend to own and it's really powerful especially combined with a couple Magic attack cards. The Djinn Oshannus is a powerhouse of a tank, the Mermain Healer has 2 great abilities with Triage and Strenghten, both the Ruler Of The Seas and the Crustacean King are pretty much mist play cards in any water deck while the Water Elemental remains a great backline monster expecially if it has extra protection with a Furious Chicken behind it.

Other cards that I regularly use in these Water Magic Decks are the Deeplurker which overall is just a really powerful card that can be used in many decks. The Venari Wavesmith which gives +1 Armor and especially is useful when only having the Arlic Summoner at level 3 as the Crustacean King doesn't give +2 armor there. The Naga Windmaster to counter Ranged damage from the opponent, and the Kelp Initiate mostly to counter snipe damage.

Conclusion

Even though I also love the Kelya Frendul Summoner, I rarely actually play it when using the Water Splinter. The Possibilus and Arlic are 2 great summoners that can be used in a very wide set of game rules and mana caps owning just a handful of cards. I plan on making more posts like this with my favorite decks from other Splinters also in the near future. Please feel free to share your favorite decks that you use all the time in the comments as it would be nice to get some inspiration.
