The Most expensive ability summoner? Why so much?

The most expensive summoner that grants abilities in the game is Archmage Arius, this card offers an attack boost for every attack type and offers quite a devastating event that is a bit of a "easy pick" for a lot of lineups. However, it benefits the most from creatures that boast more than one attack type (of which there are various). Outside of that specific instance in which you utilize creatures with more than one attack type, there are better summoners to use for maximum effect in small mana and large mana. UNLESS you use "two attack type" attackers Arius' value is severely diminished compared to other summoners that offer ONE attack type boost with an alternate tertiary effect instead of boosting other attack types in tandem. The most expensive card to buy ISN'T always the most expensive card to rent. This card's price seems to be due to market scarcity not battle viability (there are only 87 copies so of course this is a rarity).

Double Attack Type: Arius' Strong Suite

The cards that are the most valuable to use with double strike, two attack types, or ideally both. The cards I personally view as best with this summoner are probably The Vigilator (which has two attack types and double strike when in the correct ruleset 🤤), Quora Towershead, and War Chaang. Double strike creatures also benefit, but about as much as if you used a summoner that buffed that attack type unless you use other attack types in tandem.

So is it REALLY worth it? No seriously.

Overall Arius seems worthy to rent for tournaments brawls etc. if you sport cards that accompany him well etc. there is no doubt about that. But is it worth it to buy this card? There aren't many in circulation so naturally the price is a bit steep (especially if folks intend to own this guy). Hence why I would say this is a "sometimes" rental, and nowhere close to to first on the list of card priorities when we are talking about 9 thousand USD to own! (That's a whole deck (maxxed) at various ranks or just ONE card). Overall I would say that Arius is situatually worth it to rent, but unlikely worthy to purchase outside of a collectors collections. This card IS powerful, but not quite powerful enough to warrant the price tag.

Arius in the Wild: Defeated, Battle Examples

I have had various articles detailing the defeat of Arius over the course of the years (Even defeating a lineup estimated at over one million dollars at the time with less than 15 USD worth of cards), I've even beaten each of the four golden Arius at least once each. Each time I encounter Arius it is common to win with a lineup that costs a fraction of the opponent's (typically because the opponent is merely "adding" Arius to their lineup instead of building their lineup around using "Arius" as a summoner). In the additional fight examples listed below I will highlight how Arius was used and what benefits he brought, and whether or not a better and MUCH cheaper summoner could be used in it's stead each time.

As you can see in this fight vs. Arius it is particularly obvious that Llama was an overall better summoner for BOTH lineups here. It's almost as if the opponent wanted to use their Arius rental instead of X other summoner rentals, but as you can see that is rarely effective. The right tool for the right job, it's not always prudent to use the same swiss army knife for every task.

In this fight the opponent uses Arius, but in this particular lineup Arius actually offers miniscule benefit to the opponent. The enemy has MOSTLY one attack type (aside from the shark in first position and their spacer in position 2). Meaning ANY of Water's magic boosting summoners would have been better in this situation and at a much reduced rental price (as with many Arius lineups). In this and many cases Arius just isn't the best or cheapest pick for my opponent's lineup, hardly worth the 9k it would take to buy and up to 200 DEC per day it would take to rent. This card underperforms for it's dollar value, plain and simple.

In conclusion: Worth it?

Short answer? No Arius is not worth it outside of being a specialty rental for tournaments or brawls as a bit of a"surprise" factor (or when used with cards with more than one attack type as shown above for actual strategic effect). Nowhere close to worth the 9K price tag as a summoner. As a collectible? Who's to say.

El invocador más caro que otorga habilidades en el juego es Archmage Arius, esta carta ofrece un impulso de ataque para cada tipo de ataque y ofrece un evento bastante devastador que es un poco "elección fácil" para muchas alineaciones. Sin embargo, se beneficia más de las criaturas que cuentan con más de un tipo de ataque (de los cuales hay varios). Fuera de esa instancia específica en la que utiliza criaturas con más de un tipo de ataque, hay mejores invocadores para usar para obtener el máximo efecto en maná pequeño y maná grande. A MENOS QUE use atacantes de "dos tipos de ataque", el valor de Arius se ve severamente disminuido en comparación con otros invocadores que ofrecen UN impulso de tipo ataque con un efecto terciario alternativo en lugar de potenciar otros tipos de ataque en tándem. La tarjeta más cara para comprar NO siempre es la tarjeta más cara para alquilar. El precio de esta tarjeta parece deberse a la escasez del mercado, no a la viabilidad de la batalla (solo hay 87 copias, por lo que, por supuesto, es una rareza).

Tipo de ataque doble: Suite fuerte de Arius

Las cartas que son más valiosas para usar con doble golpe, dos tipos de ataque o, idealmente, ambos. Las cartas que personalmente veo mejor con este invocador son probablemente The Vigilator (que tiene dos tipos de ataque y doble golpe cuando está en el conjunto de reglas correcto 🤤), Quora Towershead y War Chaang. Las criaturas de doble golpe también se benefician, pero tanto como si usaras un invocador que mejorara ese tipo de ataque a menos que uses otros tipos de ataque en conjunto.

Arius en estado salvaje: derrotado, ejemplos de batalla

He tenido varios artículos que detallan la derrota de Arius a lo largo de los años, incluso he vencido a cada uno de los cuatro Arius dorados al menos una vez cada uno. Cada vez que me encuentro con Arius, es común ganar con una alineación que cuesta una fracción del costo del oponente (generalmente porque el oponente simplemente "agrega" a Arius a su alineación en lugar de construir su alineación usando a "Arius" como invocador). En los ejemplos de lucha adicionales que se enumeran a continuación, resaltaré cómo se usó Arius y qué beneficios trajo, y si se podría usar o no un invocador mejor y MUCHO más barato en su lugar cada vez.

Como puede ver en este pelea contra Arius, es particularmente obvio que Llama fue un mejor invocador en general para AMBAS alineaciones aquí. Es casi como si la operación El componente quería usar su alquiler de Arius en lugar de X otros alquileres de invocador, pero como puede ver, eso rara vez es efectivo. La herramienta adecuada para el trabajo adecuado, no siempre es prudente utilizar la misma navaja suiza para cada tarea.

En esta pelea el oponente usa a Arius, pero en esta alineación en particular, Arius en realidad ofrece un beneficio minúsculo al oponente. El enemigo tiene PRINCIPALMENTE un tipo de ataque (aparte del tiburón en la primera posición y su espaciador en la posición 2). Lo que significa que CUALQUIERA de los invocadores potenciadores de magia de Water habría sido mejor en esta situación y a un precio de alquiler mucho más reducido (como con muchas alineaciones de Arius). En este y muchos casos, Arius simplemente no es la elección mejor o más barata para la alineación de mi oponente, apenas vale los 9k que se necesitarían para comprar y hasta 200 DEC por día que se necesitarían para alquilar. Esta tarjeta tiene un rendimiento inferior al de su valor en dólares, simple y llanamente.

En conclusión: ¿Vale la pena?

¿Respuesta corta? No Arius no vale la pena aparte de ser un alquiler especial para torneos o peleas como un factor "sorpresa" (o cuando se usa con cartas con más de un tipo de ataque como se muestra arriba para un efecto estratégico real). Nada cerca de valer el precio de 9K como invocador. como coleccionable? Quien lo dirá.
