Battle mage Secrets: Up to eleven [EN - ESP]
Welcome to a new edition of the Battle Mage Secrets challenge. This week we have a battle condition that, for me at least, is a real headache because Up to eleven is a battle condition that grants the effects of the Amplify ability to all cards. I've never been good at this condition but let's see if, after studying it in detail for this article, I can turn it around and start working well under this condition. Let's get started.
Bienvenidos a una nueva edición del reto Battle Mage Secrets. Esta semana se nos propone una condición de batalla que, al menos para mi, es un auténtico dolor de cabeza. Y es que Up to eleven es una condición de batalla que otorga los efectos de la habilidad Amplify a todas las cartas. Nunca se me ha dado bien esta condición pero vamos a ver si, tras estudiarla en detalle para este artículo, consigo darle una vuelta y empezar a funcionar bien bajo esta condición. Comenzamos.
This condition, Up to eleven, as I said, has the effects of the Amplify ability. The effect of amplify is to give all cards the ability to increase Reflect Magic, Thorns, and Return Fire So it's a pretty complex condition that is definitely a huge headache for all contenders. When this condition comes up, I usually use a land deck with Queen Mycelia at level two, which is when she brings this ability. Now, this week Amplify is considered a battle condition so absolutely every card is going to have this ability.
Esta condición, Up to eleven, como ya he dicho tiene los efectos de la habilidad Amplify. El efecto de amplify es el de dotar a todas las cartas de aumentar Reflect Magic, Thorns y Return Fire. Ahora bien, esta semana Amplify se considera condición de batalla por lo que absolutamente todas las cartas van a contar con estas habilidades.
Well, let's get down to business. We have the water deck available in this battle so, as bad as the battle condition is this week, I'll be able to choose my best deck of the game. So yes, as a summoner there is Kelya Frendul and her one point increase in shield and speed.

As a tank I place Baakjira who, having no attack points, will not be affected by this week's battle condition on the negative side. He's going to have a lot of fun attacking back at anyone who dares to attack him.
De tanque coloco a Baakjira que, al no contar con puntos de ataque, no va a verse afectado por la condición de batalla de esta semana en el aspecto negativo. Eso sí, va a disfrutar de lo lindo devolviendo ataque a los que osen lanzarle algún ataque.
My idol Djinn Oshannus as the card in the second position. Yes, he has magic attack and will take damage back, but I'm looking to take advantage of his Void ability which will minimise that damage back.
Mi ídolo Djinn Oshannus como carta en la segunda posición. Si, tiene atque mágico y recibirá daño de vuelta, pero es que alguna carta con ataque hay que poner en la alineación pero busco aprovechar su habilidad Void que minimizará ese daño de vuelta.
In the third position I place Nerissa Tridawn who has magic attack and a high amount of life that can allow her to last a few more rounds than expected.
En la tercera posición coloco a Nerissa Tridawn que cuenta con ataque mágico y una cantidad elevada de vida que puede permitirle aguantar alguna ronda más de lo esperado.
A key card in the penultimate position. River Hellondale and his resurrect ability will be the key to the evolution of the match.
Una carta clave en la penúltima posición. River Hellondale y su habilidad resurrect que va a ser lo que marque la evolución del combate.
And finally a really powerful card with ranged attack. Edith Emberstar which, in addition, being a Gladius edition, will improve its stats if it manages to eliminate opponents.
Y para acabar una carta realmente poderosa con ataque a distancia. Edith Emberstar que, además, al ser edición Gladius va a ir mejorando sus estadísticas si consigue eliminar rivales.

Battle against @m249 which is part of this week's brawl. In addition to Up to Eleven we have Keep your distance and Aimless as battle conditions as well as an available mana of 59 points and, having the water deck among the available ones, that's the one I'm going to use.

Tremendous headache in Up to eleven as you have seen in the example battle. I've never really known how to play this condition and, no matter how hard I look at it, I'm having a hard time coming up with a strategy that's appropriate because it's a condition that returns damage to every type of attack we encounter in the game. I tend to use cards with a lot of shield, with reduced damage to magic attacks, but even so, it always counts for a lot to set my lineup when Up to eleven appears. In short, playing this battle rule well is a real challenge.
Tremendo dolor de cabeza en Up to eleven como has podido comprobar en la batalla de ejemplo. Nunca he sabido muy bien como jugar esta condición y, por más que la reviso, me cuesta un montón elaborar una estrategia que sea adecuada. Y es que es una condición que devuelve daño a todos los tipos de ataque que encontramos en el juego. Suelo utlizar cartas con mucho escudo, con daño reducido a los ataques mágicos, pero aún así, siempre me cuenta mucho establecer mi alineación cuando aparece Up to eleven. Resumiento, jugar bien con esta regla de batalla es u auténtico reto.
