Heya hivers! what's up? This is my first time participating in the Splinterlands Art Contest Week. I'm very excited :D
¡Heya hivers! ¿qué tal todo? Esta es la primera vez que participo en el Splinterlands Art Contest Week. Estoy muy emocionada :D
For this drawing, while researching and researching about the cards, the one that I liked the most and imagined a nice FanArt was... CHAN CHAN CHAN CHAN (it's not a surprise because I wrote it in the title) The Child of the Forest!
Para este dibujo, indagando e indagando sobre las cartas, la que más me gusto e imaginé un bonito FanArt fue... CHAN CHAN CHAN (valga la redundancia que no es sorpresa porque lo escribí en el título) "¡El niño del bosque!"
Me gustó mucho el diseño de este personaje, claro, mi forma de dibujarlo fue con un ligero cambio, ya que se me ocurrió hacerlo en una versión adolescente, un chico de aproximadamente 17-18 años.
I really liked the design of this character, of course, my way of drawing him was with a slight change, since it occurred to me to make him in a teenage version, a boy of approximately 17-18 years old.

Initially and as usual, I made the sketch. I liked the idea of doing it squatting, since he is a boy who at first sight looks wild, so doing it this way, gives a better impression regarding his body language.
Inicialmente y como de costumbre, realizo el boceto. Me gustó la idea de hacerlo de cuclillas, ya que es un chico que a simple vista se ve salvaje, por lo que hacerlo de esta forma, da una mejor impresión con respecto a su lenguaje corporal.

For the coloring, I apply the base colors, skin tone, clothes, etc. I shade them with a color that highlights them and I mentally place myself how the illustration will look like. While I'm putting together the coloring, little by little I highlight the parts that I would like to detail and polish with shadows or glosses.
Para el coloreado, aplico los colores base, el tono de la piel, la ropa, etc. Los sombreo con un color que los resalte y me sitúo mentalmente cómo será la ilustración. Mientras hago el coloreado, poco a poco voy resaltando las partes que me gustaría detallar y pulir con sombras o brillos.

With the fill tool, I put an emerald green background (between those tones) to change the mood of my illustration a bit and help me visualize the colors better, as I was feeling that the coloring was getting a bit empty.
Con la herramienta de relleno, puse un fondo verde esmeralda (entre esos tonos) para cambiar un poco el estado de ánimo de mi ilustración y ayudarme a visualizar mejor los colores, ya que tenía la sensación de que el coloreado quedaba un poco vacío.
Once I was clear on what could help improve the coloring, I lowered the brightness of the layer. With this I applied two lights coming from opposite sides, some with warm tones and others with cold tones, this with the intention of basing on the coloring that the character originally has.
Una vez que tuve claro lo que podía ayudar a mejorar el coloreado, bajé el brillo de la capa. Con esto apliqué dos luces provenientes de lados opuestos, unas con tonos cálidos y otras con tonos fríos, esto con la intención de basarme en los tonos que tiene originalmente el personaje.

As a result I ended up having two illustrations with different backgrounds (of course, it's not a difference from earth to sky...) since I really liked how the character looked with the neutral and the emerald background.
Como resultado terminé teniendo dos ilustraciones con diferentes fondos (claro, no es una diferencia de la tierra al cielo...) ya que me gustó mucho cómo se veía el personaje con el fondo neutro y con el esmeralda.
