We continue painting and this time a character from Splinter Babys. The beautiful Forest Spirit who is now more tender than ever.

I started with the skin. I always make a habit of doing this, although the first time I used watercolors in high school, I started with the model's dress, which was a semi-transparent fabric. The teacher told me to start there.

I think the skin is the best to start with because it is almost always the lightest part of the drawing. Also when you paint the hair afterwards or as in this case a cap, it covers the defects of the face and also highlights it more.

I liked this drawing, although it was not as tender as the original. I think I need to practice more to give it more contrast and saturation as it comes out on the phone screen. However, much of the appeal of watercolor, at least for me, is its pastel tonality that gives a sense of peace. I see acrylic or oil as an intense color technique.

Seguimos pintando y esta vez un personaje de Splinter Babys. La bella Forest Spirit que ahora es más tierna que nunca.

Comencé por la piel. Siempre acostumbro a hacer esto, aunque la primera vez que usé acuarelas en el instituto, comencé por el vestido de la modelo, que era una tela semi transparente. La profesora me dijo que comenzara por ahí.

Pienso que la piel es lo mejor para comenzar porque es casi siempre lo más claro del dibujo. Además cuando se pinta después el pelo o como en este caso un gorro, cubre los defectos del rostro y además lo resalta más.

Este dibujo me gustó, aunque no quedó tan tierna como el original. Creo que debo practicar más para darle mayor contraste y saturación como sale en la pantalla del teléfono. Sin embargo mucho del atractivo de la acuarela, por lo menos para mí, es su tonalidad pastel que da sensación de paz. Veo como técnica de colores intensos, el acrílico o el óleo.
