Hola chicos; hoy estoy muy emocionado con mi nueva participación en el concurso de arte de Splinterlands. Hace tiempo que no estaba tan feliz con mis resultados en la acuarela. Lo que logré con este trabajo fueron varias cosas que me motivan muchísimo.

Mis participaciones en el consurso de Splinterlands, hechas en acuarela han estado de muy baja calidad y me sentí un poco frustrado. Quizás por eso dejé por un tiempo de pintar acuarela, no lo sé, ya que desde que juego Splinterlands y creo videos sobre el juego, mi tiempo para otras cosas se ha reducido. Sin embargo también se trata de Splinterlands y puede ser mi excusa perfecta para seguir pintando, pero no lo quería seguir haciendo de esa forma.

Eso cambió con este nuevo arte. Siento que vuelvo de un despertar. Estoy completamente feliz con el resultado y quiero seguir pintando mucho todos los días.

Este nuevo estilo me encanta. Me parece que beneficia a la acuarela o por lo menos para practicarla en principiantes (como me considero). El hecho que la ilustración sea minimalista, ayuda a que con pocos detalles se pueda aplicar la acuarela buscando ese efecto de aerógrafo.

Tengo que decir que este tabajo es 100% en acuarela. No usé creyones para nada. Es algo que me asombra y estoy orgulloso de haber logrado un efecto tan bello. Unos difuminados que no son tan característicos de la acuarela, sobre todo en la piel.

Hi guys; today I'm very excited about my new entry in the Splinterlands art contest. It's been a while since I was this happy with my watercolor results. What I accomplished with this work were several things that motivate me a lot.

My entries in the Splinterlands contest, done in watercolor have been of very low quality and I felt a bit frustrated. Maybe that's why I stopped watercolor painting for a while, I don't know, since I play Splinterlands and create videos about the game, my time for other things has been reduced. However it's also about Splinterlands and it may be my perfect excuse to keep painting, but I didn't want to keep doing it that way.

That changed with this new art. I feel like I'm coming back from an awakening. I'm completely happy with the result and want to keep painting a lot every day.

I love this new style. It seems to me that it benefits watercolor or at least to practice it for beginners (as I consider myself). The fact that the illustration is minimalist, helps that with few details you can apply the watercolor looking for that airbrush effect.

I have to say that this work is 100% watercolor. I didn't use crayons at all. It is something that amazes me and I am proud to have achieved such a beautiful effect. Some blurring that is not so characteristic of watercolor, especially on the skin.

En esta parte tuve que pintar tapando la piel que estaba perfecta y no podía dañarla con alguna gota voladora. Observen como después hice unos biseles blancos en la corona, con solo agua.

El isotipo de Splinterlands lo quise hacer con sus reflejos, pero no supe hacer los brillos sin usar tinta blanca. Aquí no tengo la acuarela blanca de tubo y pensando qu podría hacerlo como con los bordes del metal, me confié y no reservé el espacio blanco.

The Splinterlands isotype I wanted to do with its reflections, but I didn't know how to do the highlights without using white ink. Here I don't have the white watercolor tube and thinking that I could do it like with the edges of the metal, I was too confident and didn't reserve the white space.

Voy a seguir trabajando este estilo, ya que me encanta. Veremos cómo quedan los próximos monstruos así. Lo que si voy a cambiar para el próximo, serán las letras, para que compositivamente el arte se vea más equilibrado.
