Fire Dragon Egg

Brimming with power, a mythical creature is about to emerge!

Hello everyone! After a quite long break, I'm finally back! I am presenting you my entry for this week's Splinterlands Art Contest entitled "Fire Dragon Egg".

This is a card idea I came up with. As we all know, dragons are generally known for their hard thick skin and their high affinity with magic. Therefore, if a fire dragon egg is to be made as a card, they definitely should reflect these characteristics.

 "Fire Dragon Egg Card.png"

To represent dragons thick skin, this card comes with a relatively high armor compared to other cards with the same amount of mana and rarity. And to represent its high affinity with magic, it comes with a Void Armor skill.

This card will be best used during Keep Your Distance " " \" \"Keep Your Distance.png\"\""" rule set as opponents may more likely to use mage cards and in Equalizer " " \"Equalizer.png\""" rule set as it enhance its durability with the possible health boost. It will also benefit with the Armored Up " " \"Armored Up.png\""" rule set. Combined with the effect of strengthen " " \"Strengthen.png\""", protect " " \"Protect.png\""" or silence " " \"Silence.png\""", this card will definitely standout.

Medium and Software:

Hardware: Personal Computer Unit

Software: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Lightroom CC & Blender

Step-by-step:

This is how I created the Fire Dragon Egg Card:

First, I created the model for the "Egg". This is quite simple since all I did was to create a spere and modified its shape.

 " "1.png""

The next step is to create the "Shell". I duplicated the egg and scaled it slightly bigger.

 " "2.png""

Then, I applied a shatter effect to the Shell. For the sake of step-by-step process, I made the cracks visible by scaling the individual shell fragments slightly smaller.

 " "3.png""

After reverting it back to its original size, I added animation for the Egg and the Shell. With thus, the model for Fire Dragon Egg is completed.

 " "4.png""

For the environment, I created a disc extruded certain parts to make a little uneven ground and some rock formations.

 " "5.png""

Using blender, I created textures for my models and applied it to them.

 " "6.png""

Then I started creating model for the card including the icons for stats and skills.

 " "7.png""

I added textures using the textures of the cards from Splinterlands. I modified them so that it would match the stats and skills of the Fire Dragon Egg.

 " "8.png""

I arranged the icons to their proper places. With this, the model for the card is completed.

 " "9.png""

I added the card model to my Fire Dragon Egg model.

 " "10.png""

I also added a simple animation to the card. With this, my artwork is completed and it is as shown at the beginning of this post.

I thank you guys for treading this post. It would be great if you could upvote and share my post. You may also comment on it and share your ideas with me. I would be happy to read them!

I hope the background is visible to you guys. I just checked on my phone and it's way too dark. It looks good on my PC though.
