Splinterlands - Summoners Life vs Death

Life vs Death

This is always something that is thought about in one way or another. Splinterlands has many splinters. Over the past year, I have come to like both the Life and Death splinters at various times.

I have always believed that one of the greatest summoners is Chanseus the Great from the life splinter. With it's three abilities of Repair, Backline Heal and Resurrect, it is a Legendary summoner that few could compete with.

Now with the Riftwatcher Epic Summoners, I am beginning to believe that Summoners with only one ability may be worth looking further into.

Here is an example where I am using the New Riftwatcher Death Splinter Summoner Dallan with the Cripple ability.

I selected the death splinter of the three that were available of Life, Water or Death. I actually thought my opponent would pick Water so I created a line up that would undermine the added armor.

First, a monster with the Cripple ability will hit the armor and also reduce that same monsters health by one point thus rendering the armor and any attempt to heal that monster useless.

Second, I chose a tank that had thorns to help inflict more damage on any melee that might be in the lineup.

Third, Life Leach to add health back to your monster. I selected two monsters with this ability.

Fourth a monster with Stun. What better way to stop your opponent than to keep them from attacking you.

Last but not least, a monster with the Rust ability. Shatter your opponents shield.

Check out how this battle played out. I was shocked at the result and will be using this or a similar lineup in more battles going forward.
