Splinterlands - What a Difference a Season Makes!

At first I was just glad I was getting more chests for daily focus and season end rewards compared to the prior seasons. The reward changes have really made a difference.

But first, I would like to thank @deadzy for creating a compact screen that shows the rewards and also the value of rewards which is very easy to share and use in posts.

I took a screen shot of both my last two season rewards for comparison purposes.

Compare Season Rewards

As you can see in the above,

• Season ending May 31st
  • 12 chests containing 5 cards, 30 DEC and 4 potions valued @ $0.28
• Season ending June 15th
  • 41 chests containing 14 cards, 1858 DEC and 15 potions valued @ $2.28

I went from less than earning $0.02 per day in the 15 day season to over $0.15 per day. It is all due to getting over three times the number of chests at season end.

Tier Within League Matters for Points

Last season, I was keeping watch on the number of points I was earning per ranked win. Even with all the bonus from win streak and gold cards, I was capping out at less than 4,000 points with all gold and nice win streak but most of the time I was getting less than 3,000 points per win.

I only had the collection power to achieve Silver III. Not to mention that at the beginning of the season when I was reset to bronze less than 500 points per win.

This season, I rented collection power to get into Silver II. I am now earning around 6,000 points per ranked match win which adds even more chests for focus and season rewards.

Moving from Silver III to Silver II, only costs me slightly less than 7 DEC per day in rental expense and this is more than made up by the additional DEC that I win on a per match basis. I normally win around 15 matches per day.

I am told that if I push my collection power over 70k to Silver I, I will get even more reward points.

There are still around 9 days left in the season and I have already earned 22 chests (Silver II points cap) compared to the 41 (Silver III points cap) total I earned last season. Just 19 more and I will be even with last season.

Daily Focus

This season I have already received 8 chests during the first six days. I know this might not be many for some of you but for me this is an increase from last season.

Last season by the sixth day, I had only earned and received 2 chests and on the 7th day I earned 5 chests.

The average value of the chests appear to be higher as well season over season. This maybe because I am in a higher tier but I have not been able to prove that out yet.

I have gaps because I was not able to earn enough points at the beginning of last season to get chests on some days of the daily focus.

Conclusion

My advice would be to be in the highest tier of which ever League you are in even if you have to purchase or rent collection power to get there. If will pay off big in the end.
