♥ COASTAL NYMPH ♥

¡Hola a Todos! Me alegra seguir participando en el concurso de arte @splinterlands, en esta oportunidad traigo un nuevo personaje con algunas modificaciones personales, de seguro les encantará. Acompañame a ver el proceso! ♥

Hello everyone! I'm glad to continue participating in the @splinterlands art contest, this time I bring a new character with some personal modifications, for sure you will love it. Join me to see the process! ♥

Tengo una publicación dedicada al proceso de este dibujo, me alegraría que vieras las modificaciones que sufrió durante el proceso para poder llegar a este boceto final. Como saben, me basé en "Coastal Nymph", la misma es del splinter de agua y es una carta de ataque a largo alcance. Su arma es una especie de arpón de agua. De esta carta quise plasmar dos cosas: el aliento de guerrera del mar y la belleza de lo azul.

I have a publication dedicated to the process of this drawing, I would be glad if you could see the modifications it underwent during the process to get to this final sketch. As you know, I based it on "Coastal Nymph", the same is from the water splinter and is a long range attack card. Its weapon is a kind of water harpoon. From this card I wanted to capture two things: the breath of the sea warrior and the beauty of the blue.

Como ven, sufrió algunos cambios. Soy de los artistas que cuando hacen un fanart les gusta cambiar algunas cositas para sentir que el dibujo que hizo es más propio, ya que al ser un fanart es un arte que proviene de la imaginación de otro artista. Así que unas de las principales cosas que modifiqué fue el vestuario. Si lo detallas, aún conserva algo de ropa del personaje original, pero gran parte de lo demás es una especie de coral azul que la envuelve.

As you can see, it suffered some changes. I'm one of those artists that when they make a fanart they like to change some little things to feel that the drawing they made is more of their own, since being a fanart is an art that comes from the imagination of another artist. So one of the main things I changed was the costume. If you detail it, she still has some of the original character's clothes, but most of the rest is a kind of blue coral that surrounds her.

Mis personajes suelen tener expresiones melancólicas, de cierto modo adorables, un poco lloricones y siempre tratando de mantener una belleza natural. Otras de las cosas que cambié fueron las orejas, en el personaje original no supe identificar qué tipo de material era, así que dibujé dos caracolas con extremidades punzantes y un caracol encima de la cabeza a modo de corona.

My characters usually have melancholic expressions, somewhat adorable, a bit whiny and always trying to maintain a natural beauty. Other things I changed were the ears, in the original character I couldn't identify what kind of material it was, so I drew two shells with sharp extremities and a snail on top of the head as a crown.

Como ya te has dado cuenta, el personaje principal tiene una personalidad atrevida, audaz, fuerte, dedicida y es fácilmente una guerrera. En mi versión hay una mujer más calmada, pero pone sus manos en las armas cuando sabe que tiene que defender algo que ama y no duda en usarla. En la versión original tiene un collar con algunas ostras, en mi versión la perla de la ostra ha florecido y está en el medio de su pecho, protegida su vestido de corales.

As you've already noticed, the main character has a bold, daring, strong, decisive personality and is easily a warrior. In my version there is a calmer woman, but she puts her hands on her weapons when she knows she has to defend something she loves and doesn't hesitate to use it. In the original version she has a necklace with some oysters, in my version the oyster pearl has bloomed and is in the middle of her chest, protecting her coral dress.

Estuve dos meses ocupado en un comic y no dibujé nada en mi estilo original, así que ahora que me he desocupado he dedicido volver con la razón de experimentar nuevos colores, composiciones, texturas... en este caso utilicé un pincel texturizado y rugoso que le da a la ilustración un estilo de bordes duros y de colores ligeramente combinados. Algunos puntos de luz en la piel son de un turquesa brillante, pues al vivir bajo el agua su piel de ha vuelto un poco iridiscente.

I was two months busy on a comic book and I didn't draw anything in my original style, so now that I'm free I decided to come back with the reason to experiment with new colors, compositions, textures... in this case I used a textured and rough brush that gives the illustration a style of hard edges and slightly combined colors. Some points of light on the skin are a bright turquoise, because living underwater her skin has become a bit iridescent.

Además, he dedicido agregar una coral afilado en la punta a los arpones de agua; esto daría un poco más de fuerza a su modo de pelear.

In addition, I have decided to add a sharp coral on the tip to the water harpoons; this would give a little more strength to their way of fighting.

Como ya saben, siento un gran gusto por dibujar gemas en vez de ojos, así que esto no fue una excepción e hice dos gemas, aunque ambas de diferentes valores de iluminación. Además, soy amante de colocar lágrimas inmensas pues siento que le agrega un poco más de dulcura y ternura al personaje. Mi estilo ha sido muy influenciado por el anime y los colores vibrantes.

As you know, I have a great liking for drawing gems instead of eyes, so this was no exception and I did two gems, although both with different lighting values. Also, I'm a lover of placing huge tears as I feel it adds a little more sweetness and tenderness to the character. My style has been very influenced by anime and vibrant colors.

Estoy muy feliz por la forma en que mi estilo de dibujo y pintado ha ido mejorando. Quizás a ojos externos no parezca gran cosa, pero todo pequeño avance que tiene un artista es motivo de alegrarse. I am very happy with the way my drawing and painting style has been improving. It may not look like much to the outside eye, but every little progress an artist makes is a reason to rejoice.
