Did dcity change things? I haven't noticed any change in my daily rewards. To be honest, I just haven't had any interest in the game since the 3rd edition made it more complex, so except for watching the daily rewards, I haven't even looked at it in many months.

Oh then you should definitely check your dcity. You will likely find that you now have some students, of which some have debt. If you pay that debt, then they turn into professors, lawyers, soldiers etc.
These give you the much needed tax refund.
Also you will find that popularity is only 50% effective in comparison to what it was. So this has turned the prices for population cards around and they have become quite expensive.
Also the sim token price is finally going up again.
