# 2022 Q2 - Splinter Stats Season 73 Report Card

It's been a long ride ever since I started playing splinterlands. Why? Because there has been so many changes that I felt like I have been playing this game for so long but guess what? It's not even a year. Now I wonder how much changes the very first players actually experienced.

With the end of this season and the start of the new game rules, I just want to record down my last eos with the old rule. So here I am ready to start reflecting.

I don't think I played a lot this season because I was rarely home and playing on mobile wasn't really an option since I couldn't even use it that often. I'm still trying my best to get a streak 10 instead of single digit streaks. I also didn't rank up to bronze I because I was trying to complete my daily quest before the eos end. So in case I dropped my rank while trying to complete them, I didn't want to get more collection power in case I waste the cards. Either way it seems like I should have gotten more collection power.

A #metafrens tournament which I am always grateful to be in. Although I am always ranked so low, it has been a great experience nonetheless because I get to battle with people that have amazing cards and of course get to see how they place their lineups too. It was quite scary at first because their cards have so much power and I just get thrashed by them. Also, seeing cards that I have never seen before appear in their battle history just makes me wonder how am I supposed to come up with a strategy when I don't even know what each card do? Over time, I have gotten use to not knowing what each cards do and just try to battle my best. In some cases, I have been able to win them but more often than not I lose. It's okay though, I still enjoyed myself.

The daily chest rewards ain't that great but now that the new game rule has started, I think it's better that I was able to do my daily quest instead. All I had to do was win 5matches of that quest instead of trying to gain the focus points...

The amount of dec earned is just pathetic. It was always in terms of 0.001 or 0.01 which slowly adds up and became the amount that I earned, so little. Having my own cards definitely helped to gain more dec though.

Cards with rental of 0.1 was pretty much not rented by people and the prices just kept fluctuating I couldn't even keep up with the market, much less playing the game itself. Having cards to put up to rent is really good because if I can't play that much, rentals can still help me to generate some dec so that I can buy more cards! But the prices of the cards now are ridiculously high and the price of dec ain't that good either.

I tried to camp at monster market whenever I'm free though, it did help me snipe some cheaper cards but in the end I still do not have enough dec/credits to buy the more expensive cards. With the new season and new game rule, the grinding shall start.

Making some decent progress with airdrop because writing blog really helped me out, getting some SPT to boost it. (But I stopped for a period of time so it was slowing down 😅)

Staking also helped me earn more sps even though it is very little but every bit counts right?

So, this is the end of my report for the previous season with the old rule.

Now, it's the start of a new rule. Let's take a look at some of the changes. I definitely played more than 30 matches already and I'm not even close to getting a chest. Then again I lost so many times🤦‍♀️ I'm glad that my focus point is death though, since I use it a lot and I own more of that splinter's cards as compared to the other splinters. So it's better as I am able to earn some dec and rp because I didn't use alot of starter cards.

I feel that all these point system and changes has made this game very grindy although there is energy capture rate restriction which tells the player to rest. But it's definitely rewarding the players that spent more and started earlier because of all the bonuses that helped them increase rp faster. I'm not sure if I'm able to keep up with this.

Also here, in this battle I used magic splinter and I didn't own any of the cards. Even with my win streak, I still didn't get any rp. Really quite tough to earn.

But after a series of 6 wins(immediately after this win, I lost lmao), I was able to get a decent amount of rp in this match. And of course, I used the death splinter which was my focus point.

I'm going to start grinding whenever I have the time to. No time? I really need to find time. Maybe I should stop going out. Or maybe just get better at the game and get more streaks so that it's easier to get more rp... Easier said than done.
