Hi Hive and Splinterlands community! Let me share my story about playing Splinterlands.

Start of My Journey

As I said in my Introduction Post I started playing Splinterlands on August 2021. Splinterlands is the first crypto game that I learn in Hiveblockchain. As a newbie, I played it without any idea of how this game worked. So it makes me feel kind of bored since I'm not serious at that time. But after a few weeks of playing, I found myself slowly addicted to the game. That's when I started to research how to play this game, what is the strategy, and what other things I can do with this game.

Based on my research it helps me a little to play the game in Bronze League but my interest does not end here. I wanted to advance and play more in the higher league that's when I joined a Splinterlands group on Facebook which is Splinterlands PH.

When my request has been approved I saw players that posted more about their daily chest, some tips for playing, selling token and finally I saw a streamer of the Splinterlands game. That streamer is PTREK, and lucky he also has a group chat for only Splinterlands Player where players communicated with each other. So yeah I message his page if I can join the group and yes I've been accepted. Since I already joined, I didn't hesitate to ask for help on how can I able to compete in Gold league without losing too much. And that's Jebertpl4ys sent me some tips, line up, and what cards to rent, well a lot of Filipino players support me to reach Gold League. Of course even with the tips I still struggle in Gold League since the higher the league the more the ruleset will be complicated. But it did not stop me, when I lose the game I analyze it, learn from it and tell myself I will win the next one. Before 2021 ended, with the help of PH players, I do improve and started to play in Gold League and even compete with the leaderboards in Silver League and also started to play in Diamond/Champion League.

Moving to 2022, I stopped playing Splinterlands for a while because the company I work for received a lot of projects even though they didn't have enough employees to complete those tasks. So it consume more of my time and decided to take a break in Splinterlands. But I discover that I can still earn token in Splinterlands by flipping some of their token in Hive Engine, like vouchers, chaos pack, and even lands. So yes, for a while what I do is buy and sell. And even selling dec, and chaos packs to Splinterlands PH group because most of them wanted to buy a pack in Pesos payment through Gcash(gc).

From August 2021 to 2022 did you earn money in Splinterlands?

In 2022 since covid-19 is still out there most of the employees are working from home. Like me, I do work from home but the computer that I've been using that time is not mine. It is my uncle's computer who is working as a call center agent. As the covid became more dangerous my uncle decided to work from home. This led me to give back his computer, with the help of my Splinterlands earning, I decided to sell all my collected cards, dec, and sps so I can buy my Laptop. That laptop is what I'm currently using now.

Late 2022 to Present

Before 2022 ended, I go back playing Splinterlands but at that time there was a lot been change especially in the rental market. The price of rental cards increased I think twice or more. For most of my grind, I have a total of more than 20k dec rental per day. It's been too much for me but I wanted to play the game. When I run out of funds for the rentals I decided to offer Pilot Services to the Splinterlands PH community. It is a service when I will boost their account from Novice up to Champion League for one to two days grind, but of course with payment for my effort haha. Unfortunately, it makes me tired since boosting the account is not a joke. So instead of boosting an account, why not find a scholarship account. That's when I met Mangomayhem in his stream and I commented jokingly the word "Pa Scholar po" but deep inside I wanted to be part of his scholarship. Maybe I'm lucky at that time because he has available account for scholar. And I found another in Splinterlands discord, in which Joshman is looking for a scholar.

Mangomayhem Scholar

I became Mangomayhem scholar for his bronze account which is Mangomayhem3 and when his other scholar quit, I'm the one who played it which is Mangomayhem-Ph, I played Mangomayhem-ph for two seasons in bronze league only (Mangomayhem-ph have complete cards that can compete in Bronze Leaderboards) but as the time pass I found myself like this "bronze league is not competitive enough, there is no thrill" well I want to be honest because what I always fought within bronze league is a bot. So I tell him that I decided to quit his bronze scholar account and I'm currently looking for higher league scholarship. I tell him that I'm more used to play in Diamond/Champion League and he was shocked about it because he doesn't know I was able to compete in higher league. Now I can say I'm really lucky hahaha, because he also have available maxed Chaos/Rewards card scholar account. That what's I'm currently playing now Mangomayhem5.

Joshman Scholar

Joshman scholar account is Sheepdawg and Kingsclown, I'm playing Sheepdawg while Kingsclown is played by Charles also a Filipino Splinterlands player. The time I got sheepdawg it only have maxed bronze cards. Using maxed bronzed card I can still reach Gold league, so Joshman decided to upgrade the cards as fast as he can. From bronze to silver to gold and now most of the cards are already in maxed Diamond/Champion Level.

I also use to be Cryptoeater Scholar to his account Aqualis.dao, sadly he decided to use bot for his three accounts. So Gg's to all Diamond Wild Leaderboard I use to fight with.

Tips for Newbie: Don't stop playing, find what league you feel comfortable competing in. Analyze every battle. Soon you will be surprised that you are already playing the leaderboards.
