Splinterlands Diary 17.05.23 - ZYRIEL

Greetings, brave warriors of the Splinterlands! I like game innovations that expand strategic options and like experimenting with new cards, so for this season I rented a new archer, ZYRIEL, who in addition to being able to replenish her health through damage dealt and "share" her ranged attack ability with defender cards, can play as a Life or Death element. It's a kind of bipolar :)

In fact, I think it's very cool, and gives a great opportunity to unpleasantly "surprise the enemy" and give him a lot of trouble in battles where archers play a crucial role.

I've done about a dozen battles with this beauty and in one of the battles it proved very useful.

So, I chose the element of Death and the following lineup:

WAKA SPIRITBLADE

My personal favourite. Its ability to give allies the ability to poison the enemy is great in battles against strong opponents, so using it with mages and archers is pure fun!

WAR CHAANG

Since there's a good chance the opponent would have a Close Range archer in the first position, I decided to make life difficult for him and chose this melee-wielding card. Yes, if the enemy uses a strong attack, he won't last long, but he will be able to deal significant damage to his first card and "stall" the second one.

VENARI MARKDSRAT

The relatively new Martyr ability has brought a lot of excitement to the game, and I love using it in battles with Born Again, but this time it's a sacrifice that strengthens the archer that follows it. A trick? Yes!

QUEEN OF CROWS

Babe, my battles are just boring without you. I love playing with this witch and when the mana count allows it, it's great on defense and gives the enemy problems like poison from the summoner :)

RAVENHOOD WARDEN

Protection is never superfluous, so I gave this line to this archer, who gives his allies a small shield thanks to the Protect ability.

ZYRIEL

Rounding out the combo is a new archer, who gets the role of "finishing off". To replenish health at the expense of damage and to finish off the enemy cards, which have already suffered from the allies - not a bad role and, on top of that, gives the opportunity to make preparations for the fact that if the enemy is stronger, the battle can be pumped up, and to withstand the attacks of his snipers.

The enemy was quite clever, using the Keyla Frendul, which gives allies shields, and his Gargoya Devil and Kulu Swimhunter in long-range positions did not promise anything good, so it was going to be a heated battle.

I lost my first two cards during the first two rounds, but dealt significant damage to my opponent, and most importantly, was on schedule. Queen of Crows increased the parameters by losing Venati Marksrat, and Zyriel played the role of the "finishing" card.

By the sixth round, I had gained a numerical advantage, and Zyriel had gained a lot of health :)

Getting rid of my opponent's remaining cards wasn't too difficult, and even exchanging Gragoya Devil for Queen of Crows didn't do my opponent any good, as my Ravenhood Warden blocked his last Lulu Swimhunter...

Watch The Battle

I definitely liked this battle and the powerful attacks of Zyriel were just right, so I will use it in the future and I'm sure I will find many more uses for it.

See you on the battlefield!
