RE: Escalation, Land And Frontier What Is Next For Me

Thanks for sharing, as there is so much to discuss going on lately.
With the strong new cards available in the mini-set, I have prioritized getting as close as possible to completing an RF set from my original pack purchase. I think with the limited print run, having extras of limited print run cards will be a great benefit for rental income as well as long-term value preservation. I started with a 1200 pack purchase to make sure I would receive enough for a maxed RF promo of the rare and legendary units. We'll see how much more I add based on the incentives of the leaderboard as the end of the sale draws near. Maybe I'll just buy a few packs on my alts to try and secure wagons and a title.
As for the land and building developments, I don't have the extra units to place on land. My collection is very thin besides my 1ofs for ranked play, so anytime I acquire new land, I am forced to go to the market to fill it with workers because I don't want to sacrifice cards I use in battle. So far all the new land updates, I will likely stay away unless it is something I am forced to do by changes in structure or production.
I'm still one of the holdouts that has never touched campaign or frontier mode, but I am very glad we have players who enjoy their time grinding Frontier and a place where new players can learn the basics of the game. I still spend the majority of my time playing modern ranked when I can and spsdao tournaments when I remember.
Indeed, there’s a lot happening at the moment. I can imagine it might feel a bit overwhelming for newer players, but once you’re hooked.
Especially with the strength of the community behind it, I really think they’ve built something solid here.
Playing Modern on a daily basis is time-consuming as well, so respect for keeping that up consistently.
As for tournaments, I haven’t really touched them in quite a while unfortunately. These days I’m already happy if I can get my brawls done.
I completely agree. After playing Magic the Gathering for 30 years, I'm so glad I've transitioned over to Splinterlands, as it is quicker and more convenient to play with a secondary market that is all verified on chain!
The combination of Hasbro's mismanagement/overprinting and the proliferation of high-quality fakes meant I just did not like the long-term value proposition of holding onto mid-tier MtG cards. I still have about $80K of reserve list and premium judge foil cards that will hold value, but I've sold off about 80% of my collection in 2023, just in time to buy a BTC around ~23K!
