# Renting Cards in the Gold League - Splinter Stats Season 60 Report Card

@emd012

Hi! I'm EMD012. I started playing Splinterlands last August. For the most part, I rent cards to stay competitive while waiting for the release of Chaos Legion. Here's a summary of my performance and rewards on the recently concluded Season 60.

For the first week of the season, I played in the Silver League and moved on to Gold on the following week. I finished in Gold II. I had enough rating to get to Gold I but unfortunately I wasn't able to snipe some cheaper cards for power before the season ended. I haven't managed to try out the new rental bid system in Peakmonsters and I'm interested to see how that works.

I had an almost exact 50% Win-Loss ratio but that should probably be expected given how MMR should work.

This season, I got my first ever Legendary Card, a Djinn Oshannus! I have used him a few times already especially since the card, when paired with Bortus, is a very good counter to the Water-Magic lineups that are very popular lately.

I got a single gold foil card this season, a Gargoya Devil, which I think I haven't used yet.

It was interesting to see that I only spent 2861 DEC for the cards I rented for this season. Honestly, the rent was getting quite expensive, especially in the latter part of the season when I was staying in Gold. Luckily, I did manage to use a set of rentals for every two daily quests in most of the season.

I'm slowly accumulating SPS and I've been staking every single one of them.

FINAL COMMENTS

For this season, I earned 5473 DEC in ranked rewards and 582 DEC in loot chests. So that means, in terms of pure DEC, I earned 3194. In terms of my card rewards, I got an approximately $140 worth of cards this season (the price on those Wavesmiths is ridiculous!). I still have about a months worth of Quest Potions, and it would be a sad day once those run out. As someone who is renting cards, I would say this is proof that renting is still very sustainable, especially if you plan your rentals well.
