Hello friends, I hope you are very well, once again in this new week I come to share my contribution for the Splinterlands 251 contest, this time I have made a realistic Fan Art of the Baby Unicor card. Since I started participating in the contests I always did it with a tendency towards the macabre, now I want to go the other way, towards the beautiful and full of light, and what better than to use this card with a well-done and beautiful design. I have made a realistic unicorn that blends into the night sea, sprouting from the waves towards the dark sky. Hope you like.

Hola amigos espero que esten muy bien, una vez más en esta nueva semana vengo a compartir mi aporte para el concurso 251 de Splinterlands, esta vez he realizado un Fan Art realista de la carta Baby Unicor. Desde que comencé a participar en los concursos lo hice siempre con una tendencia hacia lo macabro, ahora quiero ir hacia lo contrario, hacia lo hermoso y lleno de luz, y que mejor que utilizar esta carta con un diseño bien hecho y hermoso. He realizado un unicornio realista que se funde con el mar nocturno, brotando desde las olas hacía el cielo oscuro. Espero que les guste.

PROCESS

I chose a black cardboard so that the atmosphere around the unicorn was nocturnal, although later I thought it would fit better in a green valley, but what's done is done. I started with a sketch of the head where each part was made with a white color of school wax, it is the one I use for the sketches on dark paper and then interchange with other more intense shades of white.

Elegí una cartulina negra para que el ambiente alrededor del unicornio fuera nocturno, aunque luego pensé que calzaba mejor en un valle verde, pero lo hecho, hecho está. Comencé con un boceto de la cabeza donde cada parte fue realizada con un color blanco de cera escolar, es el que uso para los bocetos en papel oscuro y así luego intercambiar con otros tonos más intensos de blanco.

After I finished the sketch, I began to delimit the interior of the face, horses, the animal on which the mythical Unicorn is based, are animals with great strength and vitality that is reflected in the muscles, one of the creatures with the most muscles that serve to reach high speeds. In this case, as I am doing the face, my interest is to highlight these facial muscles that make it look so majestic.

Luego que terminé el boceto comencé a delimitar el interior del rostro, los caballos, animal en el que está basado el mítico Unicornio, son animales con mucha fuerza a vitalidad que se refleja en los músculos, uno de las criaturas con más músculos que le sirven para alcanzar grandes velocidades. En este caso como estoy haciendo el rostro, mi interés es resaltar estos músculos faciales que lo hacen lucir tan majestuoso

Now comes the time to make magic, I change the white color of wax for a white charcoal to shape Baby Unicorn's facial muscles and make it a powerful unicorn. This is how I fill in the entire interior of the face little by little, giving shade so that the volume can look very realistic. Then I start to draw the horn that I do in a spiral shape.

Ahora viene el momento de hacer magia, cambio el color blanco de cera por un carboncillo blanco para darle forma a lus músuclos faciales de Baby Unicorn y hacerlo un poderoso unicornio. Así voy rellenando todo el interior del rostro poco a poco dando sombra para que el volumen pueda verse muy realista. Luego comienzo a dibujar el cuerno que lo hago en forma de espiral.

Then I also start to paint part of the neck that can be seen coming out of the waves of the sea, the hair, I try to make it as realistic as possible. Once it is completely done, I begin to give it a blue hue so that it preserves part of the essence of the original design of the card, painting the eye and the shadows that its muscles project, as well as the darker parts of the waves of the sea, in this way I have finished my Baby Unicorn fan art.

Seguidamente tambien comienzo a pintar parte del cuello que se ve salir de las olas del mar, el cabello, trato de hacerlo lo más realista posible. Una vez realizado en su totalidad comienzo a darle una tonalidad azul para que conserve parte de la esencia del diseño original de la carta, pintando el ojo y las sombras que proyectan sus músuculos, al igual que las partes más oscuras de las olas del mar, de esta manera he finalizado mi fan art de Baby Unicorn.

PROCESS

I felt very familiar making this card since I have drawn several horses, the first one I drew was a Pegasus, another animal that belongs to mythology and this time the Baby Unicorn on the card, I hope you liked it, I had a lot of fun making this Fan Art and being able to give it a realistic touch without forgetting the essentials of the character. Sentí mucha familiaridad haciendo esta carta ya que he dibujado varios caballos, el primero que dibujé fue un Pegaso, otro animal que pertenece a la mitología y en esta oportunidad al Baby Unicorn de la carta, espero que les haya gustado, me divertí mucho haciendo este Fan Art y poder darle un toque realista sin olvidar lo esencial del personaje.
