Splinterlands Art Contest 255 - EVER-HUNGRY SKULL Fan-Art Drawing

Hello Friend how are you? I hope you are very well, today I want to share with you my entry to the Splinterlands 255 contest, this time with a fan art of the EVER-HUNGRY SKULL card, which has a design of a human skull that has an energetic look and some sharp fangs. I did my drawing using a black cardboard as a surface, since I wanted to give a realistic finish to the skull at the same time that I illuminated it with some colors. Hope you like.

Hola amigos que tal? espero que se encuentren muy bien, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi entrada al concurso 255 de Splinterlands, esta vez con un fan art de la carta EVER-HUNGRY SKULL, la cual tiene un diseño de una calavera humana que posee una mirada enérgica y unos afilados colmillos. Mi dibujo lo hice tomando como superficie una cartulina de color negro, ya que le quise dar un acabado realista a la calavera a su vez que le hacía una iluminación de algunos colores. PROCESS

I started by making the sketch of a human skull, first I did it from the front, staring but then I changed the orientation of the skull a bit as if it were lower and so it has to look up, a bit like assassins' posters do serialized in the movies, I don't know if you get my point. With this more inclined orientation of the skull I did the entire sketch using a white wax pencil.

Comencé haciendo el boceto de una calavera humana, primero la hice de frente, mirando fijamente pero luego le cambié un poco la orientación al cráneo como si estuviera más bajo y así tenga que mirar hacia arriba, un poco de como hacen los posters de los asesinos en serie en el cine, no sé si entiendan mi punto. Con esta orientación del cráneo más inclinada hice todo el boceto usando un lápiz blanco de cera.

Then I start to give volume and relief to the skull using white charcoal, by taking advantage of the intensity of this color, I can make a better contrast between the lights and the shadows, in this way I can accentuate more the orientation that I gave to the skull from the beginning. So I'm starting from the top, leaving a big shadow on the front while on the sides you can see the lighting.

Luego comienzo a darle volumen y relieve al cráneo utilizando carboncillo blanco, al aprovechar la intensidad de este color, puedo hacer un mejor contraste entre las luces y la sombras, de esta manera puedo acentuar más la orientación que el di al cráneo desde un principio. Así voy comenzando desde la parte superior dejando una gran sombra en la parte frontal mientras que en los laterales se puede ver la iluminación.

Next I am painting half of the face, here I try to make some divisions between the bones so that the skull can look more realistic, especially where the nose area is and as well as the space where each eye goes. Taking good advantage of the line with the white charcoal, I leave some areas unpainted so that it looks like the shadows.

Seguidamente voy pintando la mitad del rostro, aquí trato de hacer algunas divisiones entre los huesos para que el cráneo se pueda ver más realista, especialmente por donde esta el área de la nariz y así también como el espacio donde va cada ojo. Aprovechando bien el trazo con el carboncillo blanco, dejo algunas zonas sin pintar para que quede como las sombras.

Then I continue with the lower part of the skull, like the part of the chin, here I mix both white colors, both the charcoal and the white wax color to make a degradation of the light from the brightest part to the darkest part. I am also painting each tooth of the skull and I also include the fangs so that it has the essence of the original design.

Después continúo con la parte inferior del cráneo, como la parte de la barbilla, aquí mezclo ambos colores blancos, tanto el carboncillo como el color blanco de cera para hacer una degradación de la luz desde lo más iluminado hacia la parte con más sombra. También voy pintando cada diente de la calavera y también incluyo los colmillos para que tenga la esencia del diseño original.

To finish I add some shades of color to make my fan art a little different so I make a mix between turquoise blue and purple colors. I also paint the eyes trying to give it a yellow glow that can highlight the terrifying look. In this way it has been finished.

Para finalizar agrego unos tonos de color para hacer un poco diferente mi fan art asi que hago una mezcla entre color azul turquesa y colores púrpuras. También pinto los ojos tratando de darle un brillo de color amarillo que pueda resaltar la mirada aterradora. De esta manera ha quedado finalizado.

FINAL WORK

This is how this Fan art of the EVER-HUNGRY SKULL card was finished, the truth is a very impressive design that hides great abilities. I hope you liked how it turned out, I tried to give it a very realistic touch, I really like using black cardboard, although I don't like the reflection of light that appears in the photographs on the left side, it doesn't let the dark background. But otherwise it's a great role, I say goodbye to you until a new opportunity!

Así quedó finalizado este Fan art de la carta EVER-HUNGRY SKULL, la verdad un diseño muy impresionante que oculta grandes habilidades. Espero que les haya gustado como quedó, traté de darle un toque muy realista, me gusta mucho usar cartulina negra, aunque no me gusta el reflejo de luz que sale en las fotografías en el lado de la izquierda, no deja que se vea bien el fondo oscuro. Pero por lo demás es un gran papel, me despido de ustedes hasta una nueva oportunidad!
