Splinterlands Art Contest 257 - HAUNTED SPIDER FAN ART SCULPTURE

Hello friends, I hope you are very well, wishing that everyone is doing their great manual and artistic creations that I enjoy so much. This time I want to share with you a sculpture that I made for the Splinterlands weekly contest, the contest number 257, before that I want to mention that thanks to knowing about this great contest, I have felt that my skills have been increasing, both in the I draw as well as in manual work, and because there is such a variety of cards, creativity flows a lot. For this occasion I have made a sculpture of the HAUNTED SPIDER letter, which has a design based on a gigantic and terrifying spider, I made the sculpture using aluminum cans, I tried to find the colors that resembled the original design, I did not use templates more than drawing on top of the can and thus removing the pieces. Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, deseando que todos estén haciendo sus grandes creaciones manuales y artísticas que tanto disfruto. En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes una escultura que hice para el concurso semanal de Splinterlands, el concurso número 257, antes de eso quiero mencionar que gracias a conocer este concurso tan genial, he sentido que mis habilidades han ido en aumento, tanto en el dibujo como en los trabajos manuales, y es que al haber tanta variedad de cartas, la creatividad fluye mucho. Para esta ocasión he realizado una escultura de la carta HAUNTED SPIDER, el cual tiene un diseño basado en una araña gigantesca y aterradora, la escultura la hice utilizando latas de aluminio, traté de buscar los colores que se parecieran al diseño original, no utilicé plantillas más que dibujar encima de la lata y sacar así las piezas. Process

This time it was a little more difficult to find cans that had colors similar to the design of the letter, I like to leave the color that the cans come from the factory to do these jobs, I think they look better, I only paint them when the case requires it. I used 4 aluminum cans, to make the body of the spider as well as to make the extremities, which is the part that I consider most difficult to do when I have to make insect sculptures, although the shape is only one, since there are many parts, I have You have to cut them very carefully so that they are all the same.

Esta vez fue un poco más difícil encontrar latas que tuvieran colores parecido al diseño de la carta, me gusta dejar el color que las latas traen de fábrica para hacer estos trabajos, pienso que lucen mejor, solo las pinto cuando el caso lo requiere. Utilicé 4 latas de aluminio, para hacer el cuerpo de la araña como para hacer las extremidades, que es la parte que considero más difícil de hacer cuando me toca hacer esculturas de insectos, aunque la forma es una sola, al ser numerosas partes, tengo que cortarlas con mucho cuidado para que queden todas iguales.

After having all the cans cut, I began to make the sculpture for the body of the spider, since it is gigantic, it took me a bit to come up with a figure that could emulate this part. So I made a kind of oval that would be divided everywhere and that way it would be big. I made a shape with several arms that would later be attached to each other. When I cut it out, I began to shape the tabs where they would be attached with a ruler and a pen. Then I began to mold it in a curved way to make the joining process easier.

Después de tener todas las latas cortadas comencé a hacer la escultura por el cuerpo de la araña, ya que es gigantezco me costó un poco idear una figura que pudiera emular esta parte. Así que hice una especie de óvalo que estaría dividido en todas partes y de esa manera quedara grande. Hice una forma con varios brazos que luego irían unidos entre ellos, al recortarlo comence a moldera las pestañas por donde irán unidos con una regla y un bolígrafo. Luego comencé a molderalo de una forma curva para que sea más facil el proceso de unión.

After molding the piece I began to put glue on it and while it was drying I made the other part, which I also began to mold and put glue on. After having them ready, I joined both parts and thus obtained the smallest part of the spider's body.

Luego de moldear la pieza comencé a ponerle pegamento y mientras secaba hice la otra parte, que también comencé a moldearla y a ponerle pegamento. Después de tenerlos listos uní ambas partes y así obtuve la nañor parte del cuerpo de la araña.

The next step is to make the limbs, each of the limbs is divided into 3 parts of different sizes. So in total I cut 24 pieces to make each limb, 8 pieces measure 3 centimeters, 8 pieces that would be the middle ones measure 4 centimeters, and the claws that are turquoise blue measure 2 centimeters. I start by joining the black parts and then I put the green parts at the ends.

El siquiente paso es hacer las extremidades, cada una de las extremidades viene dividida en 3 partes de diferente tamañao. Así que en total corto 24 piezas para hacer cada extremidad, 8 piezas miden 3 centímteros, 8 piezas que serían las del medio miden 4 centímetros, y las garras que van de color azul turquesa miden 2 centímetros. Comienzo por unir las partes negras y luego voy poniendo las partes verdes en los extremos.

Next I begin to shape each of the extremities, especially in the final green part, there I make a small side cut that I later mold with a plier, the purpose is to give the extremities a claw shape and thus make it more terrifying. Then I place the smallest parts of the body in order to place each of the extremities one by one with a distribution where each one has its space, as a finish I made a head with a robotic appearance, using the remains of an old USB flash drive to which I put two stingers, that's how HAUNTED SPIDER was finished.

Seguidamente comienzo a moldear cada una de las extremidades, especialmente en la parte verde final, ahí hago un pequeño corte lateral que luego moldeo con una pinza, el propósito es darle forma de garra a las extremidades y así quede más aterradora. Después coloco las partes más pequeñas del cuerpo para así ir colocando una por una cada una de las extremidades con una distribución donde cada una tenga su espacio, como remate hice una cabeza con aspecto robótico, utilizando los restos de un antiguo pendrive usb al cual puse dos aguijones, así quedó finalizado HAUNTED SPIDER.
