SPLINTERLANDS ART CONTEST 298 - DOCTOR BLIGHT HANDMADE SCULPTURE FANART [ENG-ESP]

Hello Friend how are you? I hope you are feeling very well, on this occasion I want to share with you a sculpture that I made of the Doctor Blight card, one of my favorites, since I am a big fan of the Plague Doctor designs. Before I have made characters, drawings and also keychains of this and from that idea I started making this sculpture. It took me a long time to finish it since I did it in parts while I was doing other tasks. It is made in the form of papercraft but using cans instead of cardboard. It has many techniques like the one mentioned above, apart from painting, sewing and wood carving, for example. what I consider a mixed work. Everything was done within a period of two months, so I could finish it, here I show the results to participate in the weekly Splinterlands 298 contest, I hope you like it.

Hola amigos, que tal? espero que se encuentren muy bien, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes una escultura que hice de la carta Doctor Blight, una de mis favoritas, ya que soy muy fan de los diseños del doctor plaga. Antes he realizado de este personajes, dibujos y también llaveros y a partir de esa idea fue que comencé a hacer esta escultura. Me llevó mucho tiempo terminarla ya que la hice por parte mientras realizaba otras tares, esta hecha en forma de papercraft pero utilizando en latas en lugar de cartulina, tiene muchas técnicas como la antes mencionada a parte de pintura, costura y tallado de madera, por lo que la considero un trabajo mixto. Todo fue hecho en un plazo de dos meses, así pude finalizarla, aquí muestro los resultados para participar en el concurso semanal de Splinterlands 298, espero les guste.

I used about 8 beer cans, which I cut and turned into thin sheets, on top of which I glued the templates to make the complete body, including legs, arms, trunk, hands and shoes.

Utilicé unas 8 latas de cerveza, las cuales corte y las convertir en finas láminas, encima de ella pegué las plantillas para hacer el cuerpo completo, incluye piernas, brazos, el tronco, manos y zapatos.

First I cut the templates to make the shoes, since I always start from there. Immediately after assembling them I began to make the legs, both the left and the right, once I had everything ready I joined it at once with the shoes to see how it would look.

En primer lugar corté las plantillas para hacer los zapatos, ya que siempre suelo comenzar desde ahí. Seguidamente después de armarlos comencé a hacer las piernas, tanto la izquierda como la derecha, al tener todo listo lo uní de una vez con los zapatos para saber como iba quedando.

Next I made the trunk of the body, as it was a larger piece, the cans were not enough, so I used cereal cardboard, which is very hard and resistant to make these sculptures. After gluing it together, I put it together with the rest of the previous pieces, like the legs. Next I made both hands and also the arms, although I left these for last since I needed to make the clothes I was going to wear first.

Seguidamente hice el tronco del cuerpo, como era una pieza más grande, las latas no eran suficiente, por lo que utilicé cartón de cereal, que es muy duro y resistente para hacer estas esculturas. Luego de pegarlo para que quedara unido, lo junté con el resto de piezas anteriores, como las piernas. Seguidamente hice ambas manos y también los brazos, aunque estos los dejé para el final ya que necesitaba hacer en primer lugar la ropa que iba a usar.

After making the first part of the sculpture, I began to make the robes, which is a kind of black cassock like a priest's. I made the patterns for a long robe, then the sleeves and finally I made the hood pattern. I sewed all the pieces with a sewing machine, and the easier parts I sewed by hand...

Luego e hacer la primera parte de la escultura, comencé a hacer los ropajes, el cual es una especie de sotana negra como de sacerdote. Hice los patrones para una bata larga, luego las mangas y por último hice el patrón de la capucha. Cosí todas las piezas con una máquina de coser, y las partes más fáciles las cosí a mano.

Next I began to dress the sculpture, I put on the black cassock, and then I glued the arms, because since they don't move it couldn't be glued in the first place, that's why I dressed the sculpture and then I inserted the arms to glue them and make it look better. With nergo color spray I painted the shoes and hands, to make it look like I had gloves, and I also made a belt to better adjust the dress.

Seguidamente comencé a vestir a la escultura, metí la sotana negra, y luego pegué los brazos, porque como estos no se mueven no se podría pegar en primer lugar, por eso visto la escultura y luego introduzco los brazos para pegarlos y que quede mejor. Con spray de color nergo pinto los zapatos y las manos, para que parezva que tuviera guantes, así también hice un cinturon para ajustar mejor el vestido.

Now the third part of the sculpture was to carve some human skulls, to make the cane and also the necklace, I made both from wood, the skull of the cane is larger so it was easier for me to carve, no so with the smaller skull for the necklace.

Ahora la tercera parte de la escultura fue tallar unas cráneos humanos, para hacer el bastón y también el collar, ambos los hice a partir de una madera, el cráneo del bastón es más grande por lo que fue más facil de tallar para mi, no así con el cráneo más pequeño para el collar.

Lastly, I made some adjustments, which I had a previous opportunity for a keychain that I made some time ago and that was where I got the idea to later make the sculpture. I attached the hat to the mask to the rest of the piece and that's how everything was finished.

Por último dí unos retoques, el cual hcie una oportunidad anterior justo para un llavero que hice tiempo y de ahí fue donde saqué la idea para hacer luego la escultura. Uní el sombrero a la máscara al resto de la pieza y así quedó todo finalizado.

Here I leave several images in the final section so you can see how it turned out, I made the head movable so you can look in both directions, try posing it in different ways. I had to do it in stages because since I was going to wear clothes, I didn't really know what patterns to make, so I asked for help from professional seamstresses to teach me how to make the patterns for the clothes. Likewise, it also took me a whole day to make just the hands, and another day just to make the skulls, both the one on the staff and the one on the necklace, but I was able to finish it. Aquí dejo varias imagenes en el apartado final para que puedan apreciar como quedó, la cabeza la hice movible por lo que puede mirar en ambas direcciones, intente hacerlo posar de diferentes formas. Tuve que hacerlo por etapas porque como iba a llevar ropa, no sabía muy bien que patrones hacer así que pedí ayuda a costureros profesionales para que me enseñaran hacer lo patrones para la ropa. Así también me llevó todo un día hacer solo las manos, y otro día solamente para hacer los cráneos, tanto el del bastón como el del collar, pero pude finalizarlo. Ustedes que opinan? creen que se ve igual?, quise ponerle una espada así de caballero medieval, pero la forma en la que estan los brazos no se iba a bien al momento de sostenerla, bueno, esta ha sido mi participación en el concurso de Splinterlands 298, espeor que les haya gustado, no olviden comentar sus opiniones y apreciaciones.
