Splinterlands Art Contest Week 267 - ARACHNE THUG FAN ART DRAWING [ENG-ESP]

Hello dear cartoonist friends, my greetings to all those participating in the weekly Splinterlands contest. For this week, in the 267 contest I have chosen the card ARACHNE THUG, it is a large, terrifying and powerful humanoid spider, for this card I have made an illustration in traditional style, but to paint it I have used watercolor, since it seems appropriate to me. better. I have always seen that watercolors are used for beautiful and tender illustrations, I have made this fan art giving it a slightly more terrible appearance but trying to do something different by applying watercolors, I hope you like it.

Hola queridos amigos dibujantes, mis saludos para todos aquellos participantes en el concurso semanal de Splinterlands. Para esta semana, en el concurso 267 he elegido la carta ARACHNE THUG, es una araña humanoide de gran tamaño, aterradora y poderosa, para esta carta he hecho una ilustración en estilo tradicional, pero para pintarla he utilizado acuarela, ya que me parece lo mejor. Siempre he visto que las acuarelas son usadas para ilustraciones hermosas y tiernas, yo he realizado este fan art dándole un aspecto un poco más terrible pero tratando de hacer algo diferente aplicando las acuarelas, espero que les guste.

PROCESS

To draw I used special watercolor paper, I made a sketch with hard lead pencils just to make the shape, but I did it very carefully because the tip of the pencil is very sharp and it breaks the paper easily. This paper can withstand humidity, but not so much pencil strokes. I made the sketch first of the torso of the body, including heads and arms, then I made the rest that resembles that of a spider, I wanted to give a feminine appearance to the body to differentiate a little from the original card.

Para dibujar utilicé papel especial para acuarela, hice un boceto con lápices de mina dura para solo hacer la forma, pero la hice con mucho cuidado porque al ser la punta del lápiz muy afilada rompe el papel con facilidad. Este papel viene para soportar la humedad, pero no tanto los trazos con lápices. Hice el boceto en primero lugar del torso del cuerpo, incluyendo cabezas y brazos, luego hice el resto que se asemeja al de una araña, quise darle un aspecto femenino al cuerpo para diferenciar un poco de la carta original.

After finishing the sketch, I began to highlight the figure with a darker pencil, I specifically used a 6B pencil, it is a pencil whose tip is as dark as if it were a crayon color. This is how I gradually mark each of the lines of the figure, until each part is completely delimited.

Después de terminar el boceto, comencé a remarcar la figura con un lápiz más oscuro, utilicé específicamente un lápiz 6B, es un lápiz que su punta es tan oscura como si fuera un color de cera. Así voy marcando poco a poco cada una de las líneas de la figura, hasta delimitar por completo cada parte.

The next step is to start painting, for this I used some watercolors that paint very well even though they are for school use, I really like their tones in addition to the fact that the tone adheres well to the paper and preserves the color and blends perfectly. I started painting with purple, which is the predominant color of this card, using a very soft brush, I cover little by little almost the entire body, in the places where I want to darken I do not add much water to the paint, otherwise when I want to lighten, I add more water to the brush.

EL siguiente paso es comenzar a pintar, para ello utilicé unas acuarelas que pintan muy bien a pesar de que son para uso escolar, me gustan mucho sus tonos además de que la tonalidad se adhiere bien al papel y conserva el color y se mezcla perfecto. Comencé pintando con color púrpura, que es el color predominante de esta carta, utilizando un pincel muy suave, voy cubriendo poco a poco casi todel cuerpo, en los lugares donde quiero oscurecer no agrego mucha agua a la pintura, caso contrario cuando deseo aclarar, le agrego más agua al pincel.

Then I continued adding more color tones, such as magenta for the edges of the figure and especially the extremities, in the same way I also added a turquoise green for contrast. In each part I carefully observed the colors of the original design to try to maintain the essence of the character. I ended up painting and adding more tones to the head, which I made humanoid in shape.

Después segui agregando más tonos de colores, como el magenta para los bordes de la figura y en especial las extremindades, de igual forma también agregue un verde turquesa para que hiciera contraste. En cada parte observaba bien los colores del diseño original para tratar de mantener la esencia del personaje, finalicé pintando y agregando más tonos a la cabeza, la cual la hice de forma humanoide.

FINAL WORK

This is how the card I chose was finalized: ARACHNE THUG, without a doubt it is a great card, I loved this design, it has many ways to create it and give it a personal touch, I imagine it in a sculpture made of wood, I think it would look great, or also plasticine. For now, I draw it, since I'm not that good at sculpting, but it's something I want to learn in the near future. Así quedo finalizada la carta que elegí: ARACHNE THUG, sin duda es una carta genial, este diseño me ha encantado, tiene muchas formas de realizarlo y darle un toque personal, me lo imagino en una escultura hecha de madera, creo que quedaría genial, o también de plastilina. Por ahora, lo dibujo, ya que no soy tan buen o esculpiendo, pero es algo que deseo aprender en el futuro cercano.
