Splinterlands Art Contest Week 269 - BATTLE ORCA FAN ART DRAWING [ENG-ESP]

Hello dear friends, I hope you are all doing well and doing the things you like most. On this occasion I participate in the weekly Splinterlands contest with a Fan Art drawing of the Battle Orca card, a card with two characters, in this case two very particular killer orcas. My drawing is made in a realistic style simulating the movement of an orca in the deep sea, with slight flashes of sunlight, I hope you like it.

Hola queridos amigos, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien y haciendo las cosas que más les gusta. En esta oportunidad me presento al concurso semanal de Splinterlands con un dibujo Fan Art de la carta Battle Orca, una carta con dos personajes, en este caso dos orcas asesinas muy particulares. Mi dibujo está realizado en un estilo realista simulando el movimiento de una orca en el mar profundo, con leves destellos de la luz del sol, espero que les guste.

PROCESS

I am using up my last cartridges of black cardboard, I am already very used to its great results so I have used it more this year. I made the sketch of the big fish with white color trying to keep the best proportions, I'm not very good at painting big fish but I try to do my best.

Estoy gastando mis últimos cartuchos en cuanto a caryulina negra, ya estoy muy acostumbrado a sus grandes resultados por lo que la he utilizado más este año. Hice el boceto del gran pez con color blanco tratando de guardar las mejor proporciones, no soy muy bueno pintando grandes peces pero trato de hacer mi mejor esfuerzo.

I then used the white charcoal color to retouch the silhouette of the Orca, then I painted the large white spot on the lower part of its body and also the spots on the sides, to fill them in I used the same white charcoal color. To preserve the essence of the original letter I used a very light turquoise green color, to give it a reference tone to the sea and not only be seen in black and white, this tone is very predominant in the design of the original letter and it stands out to me. it makes very nice.

Utilicé luego el color blanco carboncillo para retocar la silueta de la Orca, después pinté la gran mancha blanca que lleva en la parte inferior de su cuerpo y también las manchas de los costados, para rellenarlas usé el mismo color carboncillo blanco. Para guardar la esencia de la carta original utilicé un color verde turquesa muy claro, para darle un tono de referencia al mar y que no solo se vea en blanco y negro, este tono es muy predominante en el diseño de la carta original y se me hace muy bonito.

Next I begin to paint the reflections of light that cross the water on the whale's body. These reflections can represent the shape of the water surface moved by the wind. After painting them I also give a little lighting to everything around the Orca, so that the water can also be noticed, as a last resort I use the color black to further accentuate the color of the Orca and there can be a good contrast between the white and dark with the other details mentioned above.

Saguidamente comienzo a pintar sobre el cuerpo de la ballena los reflejos de la luz que atraviesan el agua, estos reflejos pueden representar la forma de la superficie del agua movida por el viento. Luego de pintarlos también le doy un poco de iluminación a todo el alrededor de la Orca, para que se pueda notar también el agua, como último recurso utilizo el color negro para acentuar mas el color de la Orca y pueda haber un buen contraste entre el blanco y el oscuro con los demás detalles mencionados anteriormente.

I finish by reviewing each detail again, and taking care that there is no lack of any other that can give realism to the drawing, in this case I always emphasize the lights and shadows since the black background on the paper is what makes the magic of the realism looks better. So I paint everything that's left of the water and then I blend it until it blends with the dark background. In this way I have finished.

Termino repasando de nuevo cada detalle, y cuidar que no falte algun otro que pueda darle realismo al dibujo, en este caso siempre hago énfasis en las luces y sombras ya que el fondo de color negro en el papel es el que hace que la magia del realismo se vea mejor. Así que pinto todo lo que queda de agua y despues voy difuminando hasta mezclarse con el fondo oscuro. De esta manera he finalizado.

FINAL WORK

This is how my fan art was finished, I know that in the card there are two orcas, but I think that on paper I wouldn't fit more, however I tried to do the best I could with a single protagonist and I have been very satisfied with the results , I'm not that good with fish although I had previously drawn a shark. I hope to return in the next few days with some marine animals, since they are the ones that I loved the most from the Splinterlands cards. For now I say goodbye, it has been a pleasure to be able to participate and share with you, I say goodbye see you soon.

Así quedo finalizado mi fan art, sé que en la crta son dos orcas, pero creo que en el papel no me iba a caber amas, sin embargo trate de hacer lo mejor que pude con una sola protagonista y he quedaod muy conforme con los resultados, no soy tan buenos con los peces aunque anteriormente había dibujado un tiburón. Espero volver en los próximos días con algun animal marino, ya que son los que más me han encantado de las cartas de Splinterlands.
