Resuming my practice and participation in this immersive world of mystical characters, I start the week by interpreting Grund, a character with a similar appearance to Lizard (an enemy of Spiderman in the world of comics and cinema). Practice remains a constant in my life, and I am becoming more confident. This time, I will begin interpreting characters in a style similar to "chibi," where the upper body is larger, and the lower body is somewhat reduced. This style helps me practice body proportions effectively.
Reanudando mi práctica y participación en este mundo inmersivo de personajes llenos de misticismo, hoy comienzo la semana interpretando a Grund, un personaje que tiene una apariencia similar a Lagarto (un enemigo de Spiderman en el mundo de los cómics y el cine). La práctica sigue siendo algo presente en mí y me animo un poco más cada día. Esta vez voy a comenzar a interpretar personajes en un estilo similar al "chibi", donde la parte superior del cuerpo tiene un gran tamaño y el cuerpo está un poco más reducido, ya que me es útil para practicar las dimensiones corporales.
When creating the sketch, I used the image above as a reference to maintain the character's proportions and features. I started by drawing the head, making sure to capture Grund's distinctive details, such as his facial expression and unique physical characteristics. I took it step by step since I haven't practiced drawing for years. This is a personal progress, and I know there are details that can be critiqued. I don't intend to insult any other artist's physical work.
After working on the details of his face, such as scales and teeth, I moved on to draw part of his body along with his characteristic hammers.
Al momento de realizar el trazado, utilicé la imagen de arriba como referencia para poder mantener las proporciones y características del personaje. Comencé dibujando la cabeza, asegurándome de capturar los detalles distintivos de Grund, como su expresión facial y sus características físicas únicas. Me animé poco a poco, ya que hacía años que no me instruía en el dibujo. Este es un progreso personal, y soy consciente de que hay detalles criticables; no quiero ser partícipe de insultar a ningún otro artista en lo físico.
Luego de los detalles en su rostro, como escamas y dientes, pasé a realizar parte de su cuerpo junto a sus característicos mazos.
I continued sketching and encountered a problem when trying to represent the texture of his jacket, as the card shows it as a chainmail for fighting. So, I filled it with small circles, trying to mimic the chainmail. The structure of the hammers/maces began to take shape, and I used some smudging with my finger to create shadows, which culminated in my personal interpretation of Grund.
Continué realizando trazos y me encontré con un problema al intentar representar la textura de su chaqueta, ya que en la carta se muestra como una malla metálica para pelear. Así que rellené con minicírculos tratando de aparentar dicha malla. La estructura de los martillos/mazos comenzó a tomar forma y utilicé algunas difuminaciones con el dedo para interpretar sombras, lo que terminó de culminar en mi interpretación personal de Grund.
I managed to transfer the outline of my vision of the letter to the physical paper and my chibi version. I found some markers that match the colours of the character, so to further show my progress, I used green to fill in the corresponding areas and yellow for the eyes, highlighting his reptilian nature. I would like to invest more in materials to improve my presentations, as this section is appreciated by me and I appreciate the votes. The colours are not exactly the same as those on the screen, but my rendering shows the use of these materials and demonstrates that a lot can be achieved with little.
Logré trasladar el trazado de mi visión de la carta al papel físico y a mi versión chibi. Encontré unos marcadores que coinciden con los colores del personaje, así que para seguir mostrando mi progreso, utilicé un verde para rellenar las áreas correspondientes y amarillo para los ojos, resaltando su naturaleza reptiliana. Me gustaría invertir más en materiales para mejorar mis presentaciones, ya que esta sección es apreciada por mí y agradezco los votos. Los colores no son exactamente los mismos que los de la pantalla, pero mi representación muestra el uso de estos materiales y demuestra que se puede lograr mucho con poco.
