My journey to splinterlands: Summoner's Spellbook worth 10$.

Today, I would like to talk about the beginning of my splinterlands journey where I'll talk about buying the summoner's spellbook worth 10$ and I'll kind of going through the process about how I did that.

Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using blockchain technology. Every card in the game is owned as a non-fungible token (NFT) and is traded using similar features to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and many more. If you’ve ever played collectible trading card games like Magic: The Gathering or Pokemon, you’ll find a similar experience with Splinterlands, but through a web browser and blockchain wallet.

I put my referral link above from where you can browse the landing page as my refer and you may refer others with your referral link once you logged in into the game and receive 5% of the LIFETIME PURCHASES of Card Packs and Summoner Spellbooks that are made by referrals!

This is the landing page where you'll find the login option at the above right corner and there are some options on the left corner such as shop, open, market, cards, battle, events, guilds, help.

If you have a hive account then you'll be able to login with the hive username and posting key and you'll not need to register and alternative wallet login is also possible by wombat, coinbase, metamask and venly.

And if you don't own a hive account then you may register in this game with your email address and you'll get a hive account after you purchase the summoner's spellbook.

There are these quick portals for how to battle, card ownership and community (I'll talk about them later).

It asks to purchase spellbook to get daily quest rewards by battling, tournament access, earn splintershards which is a crypto token, open card packs after buying them in the shop, winning season rewards (after unlocking certain leagues earning ratings), owning private keys if you register with splinterlands.

I joined hive around 6/7 months ago and I kind of came to hive after learning about splinterlands from twitch of @clove71. As the summoner's spellbook needs real money to buy, I waited as I wanted to see if I can earn something first from this blockchain and I started showing my gameplays in hive blockchain.

Now that I really could earn some tokens from my writings, I'm ready to dive into the splinterlands and I asked splinterlands support to add @clove71 as my referral as her video and post helped me knowing more about splinterlands. And she helps peoples in her discord server as well.

Well, I went for the spellbook.

So I'm becoming a splinter master after buying the spellbook which needs $10. Yes, 10$ in paypal or in crypto. There's an option for gift card of promo code and unfortunately I didn't have any and I don't own a paypal either.

I went for the crypto option where I've found more than 20 coins to use to buy this spellbook.

I selected hive dollars as I own some hive dollars in my hive wallet. Then I pressed the buy button.

I needed to pay 9.881 HBD that was equivalent to 10$ at the time when I did the transaction. And there was only one option (pay with hive signer) to pay and as I learned, hive signer is a secured signer for hive blockchain.

I got a pop up menu of a new thumbnail with the details where I needed to confirm the transaction with my hive active key.

Unfortunately, this option wasn't working for me (don't know why). As I was pressing the approve button, nothing seemed to be happening and I tried for sometimes and then I got this idea about trying from hive wallet although I was not sure if it'll be a success or not. As splinterlands support team is active, so I went after it with confident cause I may get their support if something goes sideway. I copied the exact amount and memo and used them in hive wallet and it was a success.

My spellbook was unlocked and it looks like this spellbook is a permanent, lifetime account upgrade which is a good news. Yeah, it'd be hard if this would need to be renewed in times.

Well, I was awarded with the spellbook and 3000 credits. I didn't know I was getting the credits (worth 3$) as well. Now, I can use this credits for buying some cards and the whole cost for the spellbook reduces to 7$ after getting 3000 credits.

Now I have the battle menu fully upgraded where I can do direct battles, I can challenge other players, I can practice and there's a how to play as well.
I'll talk about all these later in another post as I'd like to leave this post only about buying the spellbook.
