Is it still worth buying Chaos Legend Packs?

I did had the idea to start purchasing 10 Chaos Legend Packs per week. Opening 5 of them and keeping the other 5 as investment. So, I did free up some funds and bought 10 CL packs. While I did expect a loss on the investment, only a golden Legendary or maybe even Epic could turn it into a profit, I didn't expect the loss to be so big.

Opening of 6 packs.

I am not a fool, okay maybe I am, but not stupid enough to open the pack without potions. So, I did also invest into Legendary and Alchemy potions. Enough to open 6 packs, or 30 chests.
Why 6? I still had one which I did get during the EOS rewards.

The combined value of those 6 packs after opening was only $11.02, with an investment of around $26, this was a bummer.

I am happy with the Corpse Fiend, which is my first one but that doesn't compensate the loss.

So, the plan was to keep the other 5 as investment, but I did want to try out if this 50% loss compared to the investment was bad luck or more or less a trend. So, I decided to open the other 5 also, fully backed by potions.

But not much better. Here the investment was around $22 and the value of the cards a miserable $11.56.
So, if I would have purchased the cards, I would have been able to purchase the double. Probably skip some, in which I am not interested.

So, yes this is more or less a trend, but just like playing a slot machine, the jackpots should cover the losses made with the miserable packs. So, maybe it is better to compare it with playing a slot, then to see it pure as a business investment.

But this does change my plans, and maybe I should skip opening packs. Still buy 5 per week and stack those, while investing the other $20 in cards I do use.
I may not forget to mention that these extra cards does have a small impact on the SPS airdrop, also those 10 extra packs do give some extra chances for the next card airdrop.

I think you just need to be patient and hold a little longer. The prices have come down for sure, but I think they will go back up. Some of those cards might end up being really helpful once we get into land play and some other aspects of the game. I think that fiend you are going to be able to add attributes to. I might have read it wrong though.

I am really curious how much impact land will have on the game. And also if it will help if you only have 3 land plots.
I will wait some longer like always. And time will tell what I will have to do with the game. In the mean time I will just play my dailies, help the guild and earn some SPS.

I only have about seven land plots if I remember correctly. I am still thinking it is going to give a boost to things. Being able to craft and enhance your own cards will be great. It is going to lead to some really unique NFTs and decks. Make sure you are stocking up on some extra summoners to place on each of your plots.

With only 3 land plots not that many summoners are needed but I will dig into it.

You want to max level them though so you can get all the benefits. Plus certain splinter summoners will do better on lands they are attuned to.

Yeah I had the same luck. You are probably better off using the 40 or so quid to buy 10 or 12 legendary regulars off the market . The gold legendary chaos are around 80+ quid each now. Now they are only going up.

That was indeed probably a better decision. I do have doubts for the moment about splinterlands. The value of the cards did take a deep dive in the past weeks and the purchasing of packs, which is a start for newbees is really disappointing and new blood is needed.
Take will tell I guess. Maybe better to invest into the Chaos summoners and bring those to level 6, that would give me more options in the battles.

Yeah I'm doing that myself. Apparently when land becomes available you will need extra summoners for this as well. They def need new blood and think the game may be too expensive to get into at a high level.

I always have a really hard time buying packs. Typically my luck is really poor, and I am much better off just buying good cards I would use. I still buy a few when I start to feel like a gambling but I have less than 40 Chaos packs so far. !LUV !PIZZA

Bought 20 today, got some decent cards.
But buying cards individually is cheaper at end unless you score a golden legendary
