Greetings! Welcome to my blog. Today I want to share with you a drawing inspired by a Splinterlands card. It's great because there is a lot of variety in this game where you can take inspiration from.

You see, splinterlands is a card game from Blockchain Hive, where you have a lot of gorgeous, scary and mysterious cards. They are all very colorful and unique; in fact, some cards are so interesting that I made sculptures inspired by the characters.

Today I share with you a drawing inspired by the Djinn Renova card. A simple character to make, but the idea was to make something easy because you must remember that I am not a professional drawing.

¡Saludos! Bienvenidos a mi blog. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un dibujo inspirado en una carta de Splinterlands. Es genial porque hay mucha variedad en este juego de donde puedes tomar inspiración.

Verás, splinterlands es un juego de cartas de la Blockchain Hive, donde tienes un montón de cartas bellísimas, aterradoras y misteriosas. Todas son muy coloridas y únicas; de hecho, algunas cartas son tan interesantes que hecho esculturas inspiradas en los personajes.

Hoy comparto con ustede un dibujo inspirado en la carta Djinn Renova. Un personaje sencillo de hacer, pero la idea era hacer algo fácil pues deben recordar que no soy un profesional dibujando.

Obviously it has its differences, but the idea was to create something cool, inspired by the original character but in my style. As usual, I will share the creative process of this work.

Step by step

The first thing I did was to prepare my workspace. I used a sheet of white paper, the kind you use for a letter.

Look at my pencil, it's an ordinary pencil, which I've already used quite a lot and this can be seen in the part where the eraser is, for example...

Evidentemente tiene sus diferencias, pero la idea era crear algo genial, inspirado en el personaje original pero a mi estilo. Como es de costumbre, compartiré el proceso creativo de esta obra.

Paso a paso

Lo primero que hice fue preparar mi espacio de trabajo. Usé una hoja de papel blanco, del que se usa para una carta.

Vean mi lápiz, es un lápiz común y corriente, que ya he usado bastante y esto se aprecia en la parte donde está la goma de borrar, por ejemplo...

I started, as always, making the first pencil strokes, making very thin lines that I would later replace with better made lines and with more pressure of the pencil on the paper.

I usually do the sketch without too much doodling, I almost always start doing it as I expect to leave it at the end, so before recording it on paper, I doodle in separate drafts.

Comencé, como siempre, haciendo los primeros trazos a lápiz, haciendo líneas muy delgadas que luego reemplazaría por líneas mejor hechas y con más presión del lápiz sobre el papel.

Yo suelo hacer el boceto sin demasiado garabato, casi siempre comienzo a hacerlo como espero dejarlo al final, así que antes de grabarlo en el papel, hago garabatos en borradores aparte.

After doing the face, I continued with the body and hair, in which I didn't do too much detail as hair is certainly not my forte, I have to work a lot on that but that's a topic for another day.

Después de hacer la cara, continué por el cuerpo y el cabello, en el cual no me dediqué a hacer demasiado detalle pues ciertamente el cabello no es mi fuerte, tengo que trabajar mucho en eso pero es tema para otro día.

The character on the card has sort of clouds that are from the waist down, so I made some clouds as well, only these I did inspired by the clouds of the capes of Akatsuki, a fictional organization from the Naruto Shippuden manga.

El personaje de la carta tiene una suerte de nubes que están de la cintura para abajo, así que hice unas nubes también, solo que estas las hice inspirado en las nubes de las capas de Akatsuki, una organización ficticia del manga de Naruto Shippuden.

After this point I started blurring the initial outline and redid the final outline, adding shadows where I needed to add them and thicker lines where I wanted to highlight these lines, such as what covers the girl's chest, the choker or the jawline, for example.

Después de este punto comencé a hacer borrones en el delineado inicial y volví a hacer el delineado final, agregando sombras en donde debía agregarlas y líneas más gruesas en donde deseaba resaltar estas líneas, como por ejemplo lo que cubre el pecho de la chica, la gargantilla o la quijada, por ejemplo.

I made some lines on the abdomen, blurring with my finger to create shadows on the ribs and a shaded vertical line, which runs all the way down the center of the belly.

Hice algunas líneas en el abdomen, difuminando con mi dedo para crear sombras en las costillas y una línea vertical sombreada, que recorre todo el centro de la barriga.

I continued doing more shadows in the torso area, correcting some flaws in the breasts, arms and neck, I also added more shadows in the abdomen and much thicker lines in the hair.

Continué haciendo más sombras en el área del torso, corrigiendo algunos fallos en los pechos, en los brazos y el cuello, también agregué más sombras en el abdomen y líneas mucho más gruesas en el cabello.

Finally I started to work on the face. Although it wasn't easy to do, the first drafts were made with barely visible graphite lines, until I achieved the shape I really wanted to give to the eyes, nose and mouth.

Below you can see a before and after of the initial sketch and the face after adding shadows and erasing some lines that were left over.

Finalmente comencé a trabajar en el rostro. Aunque no fue fácil hacerlo, los primeros borradores los hice con líneas apenas visible de grafito, hasta que logré la forma que realmente quería dar a los ojos, la nariz y la boca.

A continuación pueden ver un antes y un después del boceto inicial y el rostro después de agregar sombras y borrar algunas líneas que sobraban.

This is how the drawing was looking so far, with the shadows on the chest, neck and face, but I still had to paint the hair and other details that I added later.

Así iba quedando el dibujo hasta ahora, con las sombras en el pecho, cuello y rostro, pero me faltaba pintar el propio cabello y otros detalles que agregué más adelante.

As I said, I still need to improve a lot on my hair because it doesn't always look the way I would like it to, but I think it looks good, abundant and dark.

To darken it this way I simply passed the pencil through the whole area of the hair and blurred with my finger, then with the sharp tip of the same pencil I made the lines simulating the hair. Some lines were thicker and others thinner, this to simulate depth.

Como dije, aún me falta mejorar mucho en el cabello pues no siempre me queda como desearía, pero creo que quedó bien, abundante y oscuro.

Para oscurecerlo así simplemente pasé el lápiz por toda el área del cabello y difuminé con mi dedo, luego con la punta afilada del mismo lápiz hice las líneas simulando los cabellos. Algunas líneas eran mas gruesas y otras más delgadas, esto para simular profundidad.

The last thing I did was to add a sort of hoop near the mouth of the stomach, attached to the fabric covering the character's breasts.

In addition to this, I darkened the clouds a bit and created some shadows, blurring with my finger the lines of the clouds.

Lo último que hice fue agregar una suerte de aro cerca de la boca del estómago, unido a la tela que cubre los pechos del personaje.

Adicional a esto, oscurecí un poco las nubes y creé algunas sombras, difuminando con el dedo las líneas de las mismas.

This way the drawing was finished. Below you can see a picture of the final result:

De esta manera el dibujo quedó terminado. A continuación pueden ver una fotografía del resultado final:

In addition to this, I applied some color, to see how it would look once the character was painted. Although black and white has its charm, when painted it also looks great.

Adicional a esto, le apliqué un poco de color, para ver que tal se veía una vez que estuviese pintado el personaje. Aunque a blanco y negro tiene su encanto, cuando se pinta también luce muy bien.
